pujo
Think they already do this in North Carolina.
Kevin38
I say just play where you grew up playing, if they suck then be part of the reason they turn it around, I know that is a foreign mindset for most people these days, I had the opportunity to play for a private school and wanted no part of it, I actually had pride in where I was, just saying... QuickStrike
One time deal 9-10th grade would be fine.
ReitzFan
This will lead to the destruction of HS sports as those teams move to a club level. This is a very BAD IDEA
BDURHAM
Everything that happens in college appears to keep trickling down to high school.
atrisk
Why make another rule? The "handlers" and "agents" couldn't care less about your rules. They'll sue on behalf of their "clients". Sorry people, the genie is out of the bottle. Watcha gonna do TSSAA, watcha gonna do?
SheriffofRedRock
This is bound to happen eventually. Then no one can blame/call out the TSSAA when they get butthurt that the team they just lost to wins with recruited players.

Nobody wants to pay for the schools let alone pay for others kids to play sports. Losing the school pride part will stink, but the sports will be a little better. Everybody can play right thru summer. Are there travel tennis teams? in what county are sports be paid for out of general budget?

In Europe you dont have high school or university hardly its all club level stuff. I mean are we not headed that way? It feels like it at the college level how are big time programs (smaller ones in the future) truly needed to be attached to academic institutions except for tradition. Look at the best high school players half of them go to overtime elite or IMG academy type stuff. It will only get worse. Will be a club sport for most in 20 years prolly. I hate the way sports are moving. And look at pro level in many sports all moving into Saudi or major outside investors ownership hence copying the soccer model. Your general budget question doesn't address anything besides someone just saying yes/no and it wont matter lol its more complicated than that. Metro spending 15M on new fields. Look into how that is funded? look into how high school sports are funded now in county areas? How is TSSAA funded? Gates and corporate sponsors mostly. And how does this look in the future is what we are talking about Edited December 7, 2023 by HonkyNinja12
atrisk
The future will be dictated by the courts with a large dose of "civil disobedience". You know "get in their face" type stuff. Watcha gonna do?
