Thoughts on what this year should look like? Jackson will be in year 3 at the helm. Foster will be a Jr and be under center for year #2

I would say Tigers are pre season favorites to win the region but the Bulldogs from Celina might have something to say about that

Opinions?

I’d venture to say you will be much improved. Gordonsville is always going to be a solid team.

I think Gordonsville wins the region but comes up short vs south pitt in Rd3

I think we will win our region. It will be between us and Clay Co. However, I wouldn’t automatically punch out ticket to the 3rd round because Chatt Prep will be a hurdle to get to round 3. If they improve from what they were last year and clean up the penalties, we won’t have the horses to run with them for 4 quarters

Not super related to this coming season, but the beating they put on Forrest was one of the worst 2-3 losses of the Eli era, and I am convinced sealed his fate. That should've been a 1 score game talent wise and it was 31-0 in the 3rd Q.

The game against Forrest was one of our 2 best showings of the year last season. The other being the Whitwell game in round 2 of the playoffs

They better do something this year!! I’ve heard from a lot of people they will probably have to move up the next realignment

Decent chance. Depends where TSSAA sets the cutoff

I will say, historically 2A in the East is an easier road than 1A in the East just because you can avoid SP

    • The golf preseason came to a close Friday at Indian Hills as the I-24 Invitational hosted by Rockvale was contested. Webb School won the title by 13 shots 295-308 over Rockvale. Rockvale girls won the title by five shots over Providence  Christian 155-`160 after the Lions won the 1913 Invitational at Johnson City by 10 shots over Greeneville. The course was wet and muddy in the morning but the rain finally broke and some good scores were had. The Webb School boys had Phet Phothong score a 69 while Carter  Burks shot 70 following up his 72 in Johnson City on Monday. The girls had Solia Mechling of Rockvale lead the way with a 73 in taking the title as they improved their score by 30 shots over Monday in East Tennessee as they found the homestead Indian Hills to their liking.  Rockvale and Central Magnet will head to the Battle of Hermitage on Wednesday July 31st. On Tuesday Stewarts Creek and Smyrna will do battle at Smyrna Golf Course  with an early tee time of 11 AM. The next day Oakland, Webb and Nolensville will tee off at Champions Run beginning at 9 AM. Eagleville will open on July 29th heading to Lawrenceburg and the Country Club awaiting host Lawrence County and several other teams to tee up the regular season. The season will end in October at Sevierville when state champions will be crowned.
