Do you reckon this action demonstrates sound judgment? Whom do you propose as the most fitting candidate to assume the esteemed position of assistant principal at the middle school?

There are a few qualified candidates teaching in the middle school with the necessary qualifications.  BJ West was a former principle, Coach Cothron has his endorsements I believe, and would be a great choice IMO, Mrs. Belcher has every endorsement possible and is a great teacher. I believe there is another person or two that I’m forgetting that has the necessary qualifications to apply. The middle school is a great school with little turnover, so I hope it come from someone inside that building

How will Satterfield do as DC at Upperman?

That defense just got a little bit better. He’s a great coach in my opinion.

TC proved how dumb they are again by running this guy out of town!

Kids are already leaving the program, we won’t be competitive again for probably 3 years. Cothron is the best option in my eyes right now. He will most likely go down as the worst coach in school history but to who ever takes this job deserves to have a statue outside the creekbank because they have some balls on them to get into this mess.

We express our regret over the current developments. The departure of two indispensable elements vital to the efficacy of our school district stems from the regrettable actions of certain members of the school board. Our apprehension now centers on identifying suitable candidates capable of stepping into the substantial roles left vacant.

Was the Coach fired? I thought I had read here or somewhere that he had elected to leave himself and pretty sure some folks on here had already been eluding to his departure well in advance of him actually acknowledging it. Or did the principal can him and then in turn get canned him/herself for this action?

From the sounds of it, i don't know if this or the Clinton situation is more of a mess.

Upperman had a good defensive coordinator and they have good athletes. Why did Macon hang 40 on you all the last

two years.

Not sure what you mean? 40 TOTAL? Macon is a good team no doubt, but I believe they've only scored 35 total points against Uppeeman the last two years, and that's over three games.

The coach's departure ensued due to the absence of backing from the board members, compounded by the unsettling revelation that one board member persistently surveilled him, verging on conduct akin to harassment. Furthermore, it appears that meeting the expectations of this community remains an unattainable feat, as even a hypothetical scenario of clinching five consecutive state championships would likely not suffice to quell discontent.

The current situation is fraught with complications, primarily stemming from applicants for the position who have cultivated relationships with board members known to have opposed the former coach.

Wow. I'm glad you are keeping us up to speed on all the details. I'm surprised with that treatment that charges haven't been filed, especially in this day and age.

    • Take your own advice Mr. Bill.  Memphis should stay out of the national news if it doesn't want people knowing about their "business."  SP's classes of '25, 26 and 27 contributed as well.  At the beginning of the season, we weren't sure if SP could make it out of the 2nd or 1st round in 2024 due to only 2 or 3 seniors only 1 of which played much.  We were extremely proud of that 2024 team for what they accomplished between game 1 and game 15.
