Your right, but I can remember us (Dburg), in the not-so-distant past, opening the season every year for about 6 or 7 years straight with an inferior opponent that brought no fans to the game and never put up any resistance against Dyersburg but we continued to schedule them year in year out.
Perfectly stated. Seems like everyone has forgotten one of the two teams involved in this thread and made it Martin vs. the world, but regarding this game there's not much McConnell could have done other than start the last 11 on his bench to keep the score "respectable". There are factors that I won't mention on here that have caused us to simply be unable to compete with most teams right now. We have one or two of our coaches left, as well as one or two kids who played last year. Coming from a lifelong Lion fan, we'll be back but it won't be soon... takes a long time to build something and a hot minute to destroy it.

Westview starters are putting up these numbers in a quarter to quarter and half. You can't ask kids to go out there and play half speed so that the pundits, which is us on CoachT, don't get upset about scoring to many points. Kids going out playing half speed could potentially get them hurt because their opponents are still playing full speed. Alot of people are beating WV up about their schedule, but if you look at it they played and county rival in Dresden, A 4A school in Obion, and a region game against Scotts Hill. Why be upset about that? Most County rivals play one another. 4A is a bigger classification. You have no control over your region games (have to play them). I think someone said it on another post to this thread, but it's the exact same schedule they had last year just flipping the home and away but no one had an issue with it last year.
Current Standings
McKenzie - 3-0 - survives nailbiter vs Chester Co. Would love to here what kept this so close.
West Carroll - 2-1 - loses a shootout to FACS
Houston Co - 2-1 - beat Perry Co
McEwen - 2-1 - loses to a much bigger Graves Co that probably stayed closer than most thought.
Hollow Rock-Bruceton - 1-2 - loses to Gleason
Perry Co - 0-3 - loses to Houston Co.
This weeks slate..
McEwen @ McKenzie
West Carroll @ Perry Co
Houston Co @ East Hickman
Hollow Rock-Bruceton @ FACS
