TSSAA class/enrollment decision

“They voted to use the end of the year enrollment numbers from the State Department of Education (avg. of entire 2023-2024 school year) for the upcoming classification cycle. If a school's average enrollment for the month of September is different by 20% or greater, the number used for classification purposes will be the new September figure.”

Not sure why they don’t  just use September for everyone, since they have to wait anyway.

I agree.

They've always used everyone's September enrollment numbers every reclassification.

That's why you gather new enrollment numbers every time; to reclassify.   Not use last years numbers.

Make it make sense,  somebody.

    • We have 2 PG's that will be added to the lineup and another guard and all are athletic and can handle ball pressure. Gibson County beat Westview 4 times in 2024. Westview brought in a Miss Basketball Candidate from South Fulton last year and you want to say Gibson County has a mental hump against Westview. I tell you what you put her on Gibson County's squad and Westview would have had a mental hump. Here is a fact. They wouldn't have won it without her last year. Last I looked Gibson County has played with who we got on our campus. Let's see how Westview does this year with who they got on their campus. I do think they will be pretty good but I don't like shots being taken at my school especially from Westview.
    • Smith County fans are delusional is they are wanting to get rid of Dyer. If they think they are supposed to be some powerhouse of a football program that wins 10+ games every year they need a reality check. Never have been that good of a football program and probably never will. It’s too hard for a small rural place to be consistently good every single year
    • If you’re talking about when they lost to Corbin HS out of Kentucky(4A school in KY) in 2017, they lost by 1 point and Corbin went 14-2 that year in Kentucky so to say they got “taken behind the woodshed by a mediocre out of state team” is a bit of a stretch. You act like Alcoa never loses at all. They lose games every year, granted mostly to Maryville but other teams have beaten them in the regular season. Alcoa just turns into another animal in the playoffs. Winning is a learned skill and it’s an advantage that Alcoa has over everyone when the postseason rolls around
