Is South Pittsburg the best in 1a

I think Cloudland or USJ for 1A winners... if Cloudland can beat Appalacia VA, they can beat any 1A team.If not, ... USJ is always good

I tend to favor the Middle Tennessee 1A teams since they've won the last couple titles and have proven in past years to be stronger than Boyd, Cloudland, or SP. Although that may not be the case this year, my first thought is to favor the Middle Tennessee teams since they've won out in the past. Also, though I respect Cloudland, I think SP and Boyd are both better, as evidenced by last year's Boyd-Cloudland rout. All three are good, however, and I wish them the best.

Earl Nall has 5 private schools rated ahead of sp with Cloudland also ahead. Greenback also should be included in the mix. My opinion is that sp, Cloudland, and Greenback are so close that it can't be called, with Boyd, maybe or maybe not, in the same ranking. The other four privates will battle it out to represent the west, with the championship game winner coming from there. When sp plays Boyd, check out how many Georgia license plates you see.

I just looked at Earl Nall's and SP was ranked 5th with only 6 points difference in the top 5.

I'll say it again. SP may be the best in 1a but their schedule (other than the Boyd game) is relatively weak compared to the middle Tenn. teams. We just won't know until later in the season when they square off with Boyd.

their qb is their game breaker if you cant stop him u cant stop them so until some one can stop their qb they will win all the way, i hope they win state after whoopin us like they did !!

Cizzle, pardon me for correcting you but the SP QB is ONE of their game breakers. They have 4 more.

 

The defense was also impressive Friday night stopping Sweetwater's big back.

I am sure South Pitt has a good team and all but Sweetwater is down this year. That was evident in their Preaseason Scrimmage with Howard in which they barely one 28-21. So is South Pitt that good or is their Competition just that bad?

South pitt could very well be the best team in 1a this year, if they played at there best v/s us. they are a very good football team with a awsome QB. if you take them lightly the will run all over you

The Howard score was actually 28-12 and no Sweetwater is not AS good as they were last year. They are, however, a good team that should be able to compete in their region.

My reference to Nall was for the beginning of the season and what I stated was as correct as possible since I was not looking at the rankings at the time. I still say if sp beats Georgia Boyd, I will predict them to win state.
