Duckbutterbandit
Riverdale likes to use artificial noisemakers to distract opposing teams. Such as air horns and cow bells. In college the fans can be penalized. What's the rule in High School? Air horns could be mistaken for a refree's whistle and could cause a player to get injured. FHSrebel27
I know in basketball they are not to be used and the use of fireworks at football game's can't be used. I would imagine as long as it's not a whistle, that it's ok at a football game. On this subject, kinda... I was watching the Miami game the other night, with the sound off at a restaurant. What happened with the refs and those guys in the back of the endzone... appeared they were shooting off a cannon or something. What was going on? LawyerMilloy
This makes me remember the last game of the year last year against DB We had cow bells and the field was muddy so after the game we went and talked to our boys after the game on the field and buried the cow bell with a flag that says "here lies cowbell" So I guess as long as they are not excessive then they are ok. We had trashcans and cowbells at the DB games and nothing was said.

splainshornet
Air horns could be mistaken for a refree's whistle and could cause a player to get injured. Now that's a stretch.
FairInMyFavor
Now that's a stretch. splainshornet, that's exactly what I was thinking. Confusing an air horn with a ref's whistle indicates a hearing problem.
playastr8
i am a member of the OHS refs and we had a bullhorn at our first game against red bank, and we were told that we could not use that. they dont even like us using air horns but we sneak those in anyways. fireworks would be quite an idea for a game, haha.
