I also hope the Heritage team has good luck. I know they've had some struggles recently, and I can relate to that. One of my good friends moved there from Clinton 3 years ago. I went to the Homecoming Game against Soddy-Daisy and it was pretty rough. They had a good fan base, hopefully it's still like that.

My son played qb for Soddy-Daisy last yr and the Heritage game was the most physical game of the year. That includes our games against McMinn, Oakridge and Dobbins-Bennett. Heritage just seemed to be a player, play, or break away from a good season. That game was a war and I know my son was pretty sore after that one. Good luck to Heritage.

Any team can win. The only team to hand Maryville their butt's the past 5 years has been Heritage in 2000, 28 to zip! Maryville has only been shut out two other times since 1990. The Heritage shut out was two in a row as well 99 & 00. Heritage can win given some hard work and some new coaching. I am curious, how many asst. did coach R keep from the last year’s team? I clearly think Heritage can beat WB this year and maybe Alcoa if they stay healthy and believe. The program is down but not out and will make Blount County proud. I'm pulling hard for them.

Coach Rewis brought only his brother with him to spring practice he is our new defensive coordinator. He won state with his last team in Georgia which was last year and is supposed to be the real deal. Our defense should be really good this year were running something different this year a 5-3 5 linebackers and 3 down linemen, no defensive ends. On offense we run i formation and we will have holes for our running backs so our running game should be awesome. Corey Pillow has the power to run through defenders and has excellent vision and Josh Seaney will just blow passed you. Blount County football should be alot more exciting to watch this year and I don't think you all will be watching Heritage get stomped by everyone this year.

I fogot to add we won't be having any spring scrimmages but we do scrimmage Lenoir City once fall begins. Our only scrimmage will be the red and white game which will be May 14th at 7pm Coach wants us to prepare for it like a actual game. Any Heritage fans want to see how good we are next friday will show alot about us.

Deep Ball, is your son Tyler Phelps? I have a really good picture from our local newswpaper with your son and mine in it, along with their names. It is a cool action shot. I would be happy to try to scan it and send it to you. PM me and I will get your email address and get you a copy. It makes me very happy to see opposing teams get along and have good attitudes and spirit. That is why I have upmost respect for Soddy, Ooltewah, Alcoa, and a couple of others. And as a matter of fact, the football boys that play for Maryville are very classy. Unfortunatly it is only a few imbicles that but a damper on Rebel Pride.

Thanks for the kudos, it was a good game last year.

FBE as far as I know Rewis kept Nelson, McMahan, Burchfield and Amspaugh. I met his brother a couple of days ago and I was really impressed.

GO MOUNTAINEERS! Show your class!!! Special good vibes for Mr. Gillis York, Daniel Gregory, Parker Holt, Corey Pillow, Nik, Little Tharpe (brothers for life), Josh Seaney, Caleb Compton, Johathan Caughron and all of my other "boys" that I have missed. I love you all!!!

Mama Dick.....

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
