Really if their number of points listed is correct they should be 7th, all of it means nothing right now but it nice to be recognized for hard work and early success. It's more statewide mention than local mention as the Free Press wasn't a voter this week.

Maybe people think that BA had an off night or that BA would win at Brentwood or in the playoffs. Just like last year.......

It is just a poll.

BA has 77 points from nine voters. Take away 10 points for the one first place vote and BA averaged 8.375 points from the other eight voters (a lot of second and thirds).

CBHS has 75 points from nine voters. Take away 50 points for five first place votes and CBHS averaged 6.25 points from the other four voters (three fifth place votes and a fourth place, perhaps).

I’d say roughly half the voters voted based on current results (thus CBHS getting the most firsts, with BA right there in second after a close road loss), and the other half voted on how they think things will turn out by year-end (and with no disrespect intended towards CBHS, BA and MBA have been better closers at the end of the season).

As bud says, it’s just a poll. The last one is the one that counts, and CBHS certainly looks good early.

I couldn't agree more with you guys. The numbers don't make sense, road win or not. The most important thing to remember is it's a poll-a biased opinion that has no real bearing on the outcome of a game or season. As the adage goes, football games are not won on paper. Some people find them amusing, but they are meant for the sole purposes of entertainment and friendly debate.
