I would think the Cleveland Duals are pretty tough. Top 3 Tennessee teams, top 5A and 4A team from Georgia, and Grissom from Alabama.

This year: (listed by state)

Tennessee:

Franklin

Bradley Central

Cleveland

Christian Brothers

Georgia:

Collins Hill

Ringgold

Lassiter

Alabama:

Grissom

If Collins Hill does what they're capable of tonight and goes in with momentum and a healthy full squad tomorrow, I see them in the finals. If Bond and crew fails to deliver what they are capable of with a full punch from 112-160 + a Kirn pin, CH wins by as many as 10 pt's. RMC I know Knapp and Parker are frontwinners to win and could stir things up, but if they don't it's FRanklin by 20 pt's. Now you shuld hit the ignor button, if that is the case. :)

I'm gonna have to agree emphatically with you here, that Brentwood will be the toughest tournament this year. That's a tough level to compete at. And, not to bring of up sore spots, but I sure wish the Public vs Private stuff could be let go of, and have some more private schools there also. I think it's better to face the tough competitors before the state tournament so the coaches and kids can see what they're made of. It allows the coach to prepare the kids for state level competition, and helps the sport.

Father Ryan.

The toughest price at the gate.  Toughest sound system, Nuns and parking.

I haven't been to McCallies or Brentwood.

If you haven't been to Brentwood, then I'm not sure your comment carries a lot of weight. Until you've seen Mater Dei land 9+ kids in the finals (granted, only 2-4 win, but at least they're there) you may not have seen the best competition in an individual tournament in a while. Going back a few years, Ryan's tournament was the best, but I strongly believe that Brentwood has surpassed them for the past 3-4 years in a row. McCallie runs a first rate tournament as well (again not knocking McCallie or Ryan's tournament) but have to interject that the best competitors come to Brentwood for a dogfight. You'll see some of the best matchups all year, some (not most, but a few)even better than the state finals matches. It's really worth the admission price, plus a few more bucks.

As far as individual tournaments go, over time McCallie has been the toughest that the Southeast has to offer. When you look at some of the 4 and 3 time state champions from both TN and GA who have only won ne McCallie championship it is amazing. The finals at McCallie are the funnest to watch in TN HS wrestling. McCallie has a great venue, they do an excellent program, and the tourney always runs smooth. Look at some of the matchups over the years and that will tell you were the toughest tournament is.

McCarty vs Ward

Simpson vs Morrow

Dunning vs Geismar

Just to name a few
