cbg
Just another case of the T$$AA not doing the proper thing by telling the schools in the Columbia Academy district if they elect to forfeit and do not play CA they will not be allowed to participate in the district tournament. The message that is being sent to the kids is that you are not as good as the kids at CA so we are not going to play them. tigersfan
What we do instead, cbg, is teach our kids to cry foul about every loss. We teach them to look for reasons for our losses outside of ourselves. We teach them that the other team, or the referee, must have done something to cause our loss. Couldn't possibly have been that we weren't prepared or that we didn't play our best. I just don't like to see kids taught to play the victim. Public schools wanted CA out...and when they didn't bail out...public schools tried to force them out. CA stated their number one reason for staying was travel time, and local rivalries. Public schools set out to remove those things from them. I hope CA doesn't give them what they want. I would like to continue to play them.... Rings
CA is a private school and should play in the private division. That settles it.
MauryCoHoops
CA is a private school and should play in the private division. That settles it. TSSAA Rules allow it. So, that's what truly settles it. Division II "private division" is for all schools that provide financial aid which CA doesn't at this time. Indian
48 miles from Columbia to Nashville, hardly a burden to play the private schools there.
karl98
T$$aa allows it for now but even t$$aa director informed CA that they had to stop employing parents and giving discounts on tuition. They are a division 2 private school trying everything they can to dodge the competition of other division 2 schools that operate the way they do. karl98
Last year CA played at Goodpasture, at Huntland, at Madison Academy in Huntsville Alabama, at Middle TN Christian, and a Christmas tournament in Jackson TN. And they say travel was one of their concerns to stay in division 1. LOL!!!
Indian
This would have likely been their basketball district: Battle Ground Academy (Franklin, TN) Christ Presbyterian Academy (Nashville, TN) Ezell-Harding Christian School (Antioch, TN) Franklin Road Academy (Nashville, TN) Knowledge Academies (Antioch, TN) Middle Tennessee Christian School (Murfreesboro, TN) Providence Christian Academy (Murfreesboro, TN) The Webb School (Bell Buckle, TN) Zion Christian Academy (Columbia, TN)

orngnblk
That travel doesn't seem to bad from Columbia. That is where they should be playing. If they would stay with their own kind they wouldn't have to worry about forgetting their brooms for cleaning the opposing teams away bleachers before they set their private butts upon them! Indian
That travel doesn't seem to bad from Columbia. That is where they should be playing. It could have also been split into north and south subdistricts if they thought 10 was too many. 8 total vs your own group, 5 against the other half (and host/travel) the next year.
