Didn't misinterpret any thing. He was throwing our players under the bus saying they weren't trying and then made a comment like Westview's jersey was in GC and Union City's head. My comment was that Westview has tons of talent especially with the transfers that have came in. Sure wasn't we choked out with the talent they had last year. I don't know if he is a South Gibson Fan or a Westview Fan but this is a message board and I for one am going to defend my school.

Correct me if I'm wrong Guru, but I interpreted what you were saying as some Westview opponents having a mental block to overcome because of the name on the uniform. Much like Duke or Kentucky in Men's college hoops. I do think you're wrong about Gibson Co. being that way. They are Duke's North Carolina. No fear there! Think Pioneer misinterpreted what you were saying and lashed out with the "transfer rhetoric." Anyway back to the present, I believe the parity in the district will be good this year, much like the days when Obion Co. battled those two in district.

Meigs has a good reputation for well coached teams. Turtle Will have his hands full. Thing about AE they could go 4&6 and still be tough out in playoffs.

A one time transfer rule don't mean you can make contact and influence. Rules still in place. The rule in place now is not as easy as thought. Teams are going to be watching and paying attention. Even if the law is passed GC won't be the one's jumping in another yard trying to get players. This is a general statement so teams that are doing it don't freak out. Poster just said GC has a mental block against Westview. Just pointed out they have lots of talent three of which were teansfers. Just telling the facts here. People start making comments about GC obviously need to know some facts. I know all about the three girls. I just said they were transfers and it is 110% accurate so there you go. Not a whole lot goes unknown in the basketball world. The poster from Westview or South Gibson or wherever they are from I think got the message.

Man, you need to get over this whole transfer business. Thanks to our legislature, it's about to be the "Wild, Wild West " statewide anyway. I am a GC fan, with son/daughter working in the system and grandson about to play for the HS Pioneers. Yet, these are facts. Lakyn Rogers came along with her dad when he was hired as softball coach. Halle Trevathan came with her dad when he was hired as boys basketball coach. And far as Maddie Gray, made a choice. Her family physically moved. They would've done it a year earlier but Maddie wanted to stay at So. Fulton until Curt Lee retired. The entire team from her junior year graduated and she would have seen double/triple teams if she stayed at SF. You can't blame a kid for wanting a better opportunity.

I think he can have success but getting to state will be much more difficult having to go through all those good 3A programs. Will be interesting to see for sure

This coaching staff will do what’s best for the program & what’s best for the all the including the kids that are coming in. The transfers will leave here better due to the example they have as coaches here. Casino Jones being fired was the best thing to ever happen to these transfers.

Yes I agree, Coaching in Memphis seems like a much tougher job than most in the State! Hats off to these coaches from MASE, I think they do a great job!

You said Gibson County had to get over a mental hump with Westview. I take that as a real friendly way of saying they choked and there is a difference when a school picks up a Miss Basketball Candidate before the season and added to a roster that is already good. I don't call it choking or a mental hump I call it out talented. Gibson County needs to play better I will agree. Turnovers were a problem last year. Didn't see a ton of that this summer. We have 3 PG's that will be on the floor at the same time. Union City and Westview will be good I agree and it will be a great three team race. I thought Gibson County played well last year at the end of the year. Got beat by Memphis Business Academy at their place at the buzzer. Same team lost to York at the end of the game by 1 at state. Memphis Business Axademy likely the most talented team in AA and very well could be the preseason number 1. I just take offense of saying my team has a mental block losing to a team that was loaded.

The coaching staff is the reason there are issues. They are bringing in culture killers to try and win. It won’t work. Alcoa will beat AC and all the true AC families that do all the back work behind the scenes will be mad when Billy Bob’s PT will get taken by these transfers.

Rhea is not on the same level as WV or EH

Dekalb went 6-4 and didn’t make the playoffs for the first time since 2010. I wouldn’t say that a better than average year for us but I do agree with SC’s schedule not helping them any last year on a down year

Record should improve for sure mainly due to easing up on the schedule. Schedule was a big problem last year playing a lot of larger schools some of whom had way better than avg years like dekalb and esp Macon. Also still had Upperman last year. That was a good schedule to challenge his 2023 team but not so much last year. Like you I would expect a winning record for regular season.

That was last year! I think AE is finally back to its winning ways this season. Don't overlook my Roadrunners
