  1. It's hard for me to put into words to the young men and women I coach what it felt like for me to walk into McKenzie Arena and compete in the state tournament. I had only started wrestling as a freshman and had no real knowledge at the time of UTC's history or anything like that, but walking into a college facility with that look and environment...that was just a feeling like no other. Now, I just can't imagine the young men and women today get that same feeling walking into the Ag center and that's what disappoints me. I do see the positives as it is much more centrally located in the state which make travel easier and obviously the cost is unbeatable. I would just like to see a little more prestigious venue to reward our wrestlers for their hard work and dedication. I feel as though it should be a memorable experience for them, and I know that's what McKenzie Arena was for me. Just my 2 cents!

  2. Looking forward to 2019!! Springfield has to replace some key skill players. The schedule is out and we drop Gallatin and Beech, and pick up Wilson Central and Marshall County!! I'm not sure the last time Springfield played Marshall County but it's awesome to see a game between two tradition rich programs.

  3. Thanks, our OC has been named interm and everyone is hoping it’s permanent. All the kids and assistant coaches are behind him.

  4. Racism seeps through every word you type sir. No good ole boy spirit here I only see two colors, light green and dark green. If you were a Marine you’d understand that concept. It’s time we stopped making excuses for bad behavior and asking for leniency every time teenagers and adults act this way.

  5. There is no way you believe the BS you're saying. Bleacher said the exact truth but you never seem to see that . You claim the better hire was made and there is no way he is a better hire, he knows , we know, you know as well as everyone else know why he was selected . If it was just hillwood the Bellevue community wouldn't have got involved like they haven't recently but now since the school is moving to Bellevue they want a particular look that fits the bill in their community. Some people don't want to admit the truth especially when they benefit from it

  6. well, it is free and as they say sometimes you get what you pay for and well we see what the TSSAA wants to pay for their wrestlers! Again, i don't mind the central location of Nashville, it is a very happening city also, however the AG Center is the problem not the location and as long as TSSAA continues to get it for free they could care less about any health outcomes from the air quality or much of anything else because it saves them money. Now I would love to have MTSU start up their actual program for D1 and have the tourney there, I loved when I went to MTSU and they could have the tourney there and it be worthy of being a State tourney arena. Also it was NEVER 75.00 for UTC at McClellan or Mckenzie, now they did keep out food and drink and parking did suck for sure(i was also a student there and its always been bad) but they did give a discounted rental rate for it and had to make up for that with concessions, which is the reason. Now as far as admission in, that is set by TSSAA, they take so much of the gate so they drive the prices of tickets so they can make their money. just like they do during playoff football and the state championships at Tech!

  7. I seen in a previous post that the hillwood hire was a good one. How ? He has a losing record even with the non region games . I have no dog in the hunt nor do I know either finalist But the ones resume seems a little better than the one hired .

  8. I ref for them, I promise they aren’t hurting for money and they rip everyone off especially football, so they could spend the money on an actual venue like say MTSU but instead choose to not spend that money but still make a ton off those who did attend! I don’t care if it’s no longer in Chattanooga(like Nooga hasn’t owned the state tourneys anyways). The fact is for those like me that had to puff on an nebulizer before most matches at tournaments the air quality at the horse barn is terrible for wrestlers that would be like me. I have went twice, won’t do that again and I love the sport of wrestling but I would travel to Macon before I would do Franklin again! And before saying how bad you were treated at UTC which wasn’t great, it was nice to wrestle at a college, one in which many of those same kids might attend later even if not wrestling. I loved it being at McClellan Gym and being able to go during breaks to the student center and playing pool and arcade games. Not sure the wrestlers were ever really treated badly there, maybe just the parents who you railed on about. Also, just for the opportunity to get yelled at while I ref I get to pay the TSSAA for that opportunity on top of the National license I already carry and take classes for, they are a money racket just like NCAA and they don’t give two craps about the kids and they have made that known with some of the decisions they have made through the years!

  9. That is not what they are saying. The thread is about 5 and 6A on the 5 and 6A boards. Make a thread of your own if you want to talk about the best assistants in the private parts or open zone 3A schools and quit getting your panties in a wad. I am a 2A Trousdale County fan and know if I go to the 5 and 6 A boards they are going to be discussing that classification.

  15. Back when CPA and others were moving from D1 to D2, ole @Booger said something about Lipscomb and CPA would be battling for the AA Middle Region title. I laughed at him, and for the last two years I've felt pretty confident about that laugh, but now... Maybe Booger does "nose" stuff! Who wouldn't have hired him? It was a national news type hire. He seems like a great guy and I'm sure he'll assemble a top notch staff. It will be interesting to watch. I wish Lipscomb well and my guess is they will do very well. Do I hope over the next eight years that they go to 4 semifinal games, 4 championship games and win two of them? Nah, but you guys can understand that I'm sure. See you guys next August unless the rumors I'm hearing about Tony Romo taking over at Goodpasture are true!

  16. So what you are saying is you are not a good coach unless you are 5 or 6a? The best assistant in the state is at Alcoa in Brian Nix. Or Steve Haywood or Ryan Taylor at CPA
