  1. I thought about doing something that is unique for West Tennessee fans. Here's a list of teams records (winning percentages), quarterfinals appearances, semifinals appearances, and state champions. The reason why I posted this on the 1A&2A is because there is a higher amount of 1A&2A teams in West Tennessee. If you complain about the list, tell your team to do better next decade. Record (winning percentage) 1. Henry County 106-25 (.809) 21. Haywood 67-50 (.572) 41. Obion Central 33-71 (.317) 2. Huntingdon 97-27 (.782) 22. Trinity 66-52 (.559) 42. 2. I think it’s time to let it rest Salem. You can complain all you want but it’s not going to change anything. Forrest would have had the same end result against Peabody.

  3. That's a good question RK. Apparently you believe Mrs. Manson needs to take it up a notch. I'll have that discussion next time I see her.

  4. That hold on the linebacker should have negated that touchdown run. This is bullcrap. These referees should b suspended for missing an obvious call

  7. Eli Preswood has never had any intention of going to etown. Now personally, i have no idea what goes on at witten huddle but i do know clands weight room has collected a lot of dust. There's a 41 year old stud with arms like stove pipes who is the perfect role model if they ever decide to listen to him. He's Cory's uncle and he is more than willing to help. He's up there a lot. Cland kids need to utilize the resources

  9. And part of your problem is ignoring the biggest 2 letter word in the post “IF!” IF anyone hangs around to “torpedo” a coach because they didn’t get the job has a serious character/ego problem. IF that is true... but it was convenient for you to ignore that sentence I guess.

  10. Very little, except the organizers do a pretty good job finding competitive teams with great distances to travel. Some of the rosters list teams with 8th graders playing varsity. I highly recommend buying the glossy program. It has team pictures, lists the scores and teams from every past tournament, individual and team records, etc.

  11. Not yet but I usually go on the Internet and look for teams websites, local newspapers, YouTube for a video of a game and if need be, kidnap a player on the out of state team and tickle her until she spills the beans. ( One day, somebody is going to take me serious and call the police saying I am a kidnapper. ) I will post any info as I find it.

  13. No standing ovation, just boos and screaming get off the floor. People tend to have a sour taste in their mouth when someone else makes history and it's not their school doing it. Just shows how much class sore losers have. I could go on forever but I'm an adult. So congratulations on your milestone Coach Rogers!! #clarkrangefanslovesourcoachandourwinningtraditoin.

  14. Not a single person has made that claim, Rasslinking. They probably would not be favored to win a single match. If fact, it's probably unlikely any kid in TN would be favored. McCallie(2), CBHS(1), Baylor(2), and FR(2) all have kids that wrestled for other high schools. I think you are over overreacting. Perhaps a TN team should try to get ranked in the top 50 before beating the best two teams in the country. If you were hired at McCallie as the head coach, and they didn't have an elementary school, where would you get all of you wrestlers? You know that kids are not zoned to go to private schools, correct? Would you talk a bunch of 8th graders out for wrestling and win the state a couple years later?

  15. Gary Rankin is a retired educator in the state who works on a 100 day contract and just gets to carry the title of head football coach. If I were a guessing man I would say that he probably makes somewhere in the neighborhood of $125,000-$150,000 to be the football coach at Alcoa. His sons John Tucker and Zeke (this upcoming May) will receive their high school degrees from Alcoa and be able to say that they won numerous state championships while playing for their dad in high school. His wife works in the medical field and is incredibly successful as well. I laugh every single time someone says "he's going to a private school" because I just don't see it. If he coaches for 5 more years he will become only the third coach in the history of high school football to reach 500 career victories. At the same time there's a strong possibility that he would also reach 20 state championships in the process.

  16. If you are married to a board member my advice for you would be to not engage in an online taunting battle. It doesn't help the image and is actually counter productive.

  18. A few years ago Alcoa had 8 heavyweights on their wrestling team. They also had the #13 heavyweight in the nation. Those other 7 heavyweights were not there to beat the number 13 kid. They were there to develope skills to help them become better linemen. What does Alcoa know that others don’t? For the life of me I don’t understand why football coaches don’t push boys to wrestling. Boys big and small can develop invaluable skills while wrestling. Now I know I am inviting ignorant comments from the keyboard warriors but its okay, they are ignorant to the truth and they choose to remain that way. Bruno Regan told a group of boys at Goodpasture a few years back that it was not football that got him to Vanderbilt it was wrestling. I know this because I was there.
