Van Ness wrestled just fine against Delbartons 132 in the dual prior to the dual with Baylor. Blair chose to send Coliaocco out to wrestle 132 and not Van Ness. Why can't we as supporters of wrestling in TN, not support each other on the national stage. Why does it have to be an excuse that Baylor won one match against Blair? Why can't you just congratulate the the team on competing with some of the best teams in the country today? Let me say that it was a great day of wrestling at Blair. Very proud of Baylor for getting the invitation and representing TN as the best team in TN this year!

I didn't realize Rick had stepped down at the middle school. This was really the only hope this program has or had to salvage a win or two at the high school. Letting Shad be in charge of picking the new coach at the middle school is the same as letting a match be in charge of dynamite especially the way his application shows up at a lot of other programs looking for a new coach. The reason Meadows didn't get the job at WB was the way they felt betrayed the way he left when another school paid him double what he was making at WB. The only difference between Meadows case and Shads is Meadows can get five jobs today if he wants but Shad can't and they know their safe because of that. His chances of escaping WB are the same as a prisoner in North Korea and that's pretty bad when everyone knows that. I never thought Rome could be built in a day down there but Meadows seemed to walk in and change things in a very short time frame. I also realize Blount County doesn't seem to care about it's football programs the same as other schools in the area and seem to be built on a miracle happening instead of smart developing. I'll say this in closing, if Heritage or WB were to put a real competitive team on the field the fans would come out of the woodwork to see and be a part of it. When I saw the crowd for the WB and Heritage game last year it beat most crowds I've seen at any Maryville or Alcoa game in 2019 by a landslide. Both of the county teams need a younger ,more aggressive coach willing to do whatever to take this challenge on. keep doing the same ole thing expecting different results don't cut it with me.

Jeffries has a motor for sure & to do what he does at his age is not found often. He’s got a natural nastiness about him but off field he’s a mild laid back young man. He can flip the switch!

Bradley has won by 60 and played every player on their roster more the the rest of the district put together. Your out of your lane making statements about another program. I went to a few games that Rhyne Howard played 20 minutes and her team won by 40. Plus, their is a JV game in most cases at 3:30 before the varsity game at 6:00. Most people don’t know that many of those girls on some coaches benches have just played a (32) minute jv game.

Yeah that would of been a good match between those two. Cleveland should look into going to the Holy Angels tournament next year in Charlotte,NC. It’s a really good tournament.Our 120 got beat in the finals there and our 132. The Head Coach at Appalachian State John Mark Bentley is from Avery. He never lost in high school and won the high school nationals in 1997. Went UNC and transferred to Oklahoma St. in his college career.

It looks like Blair Academy is the Hamilton Heights of wrestling in NJ. What I have read shows Delbarton as the #1 team and St Joseph's as the #2 team in NJ. Does Blair have a post graduate program that does not make them eligible to competed in the NJ state tournament? A very good showing by Baylor! They should be proud-

Well my old high school Avery finished 2nd with 205.5 points. Only had 10 kids. 8 out of the 10 placed.Had 4 in the finals.2 won it at 120 and 132. The 132 River Griffith was named most outstanding wrestler for the lower weights. Georgetown Prep was there and they had Kyonte Hamilton who is ranked 3rd in the Country at 220 going to Rutgers and won Beast of the East this year.Hamilton was most outstanding for the upper weights. Cleveland won it with 256 points.

Going to take a team with a really good point guard. Some height would help as well. Going to have to be cool under pressure and not get rattled. I believe you can get lay ups if you handle it, but you can’t shoot threes and jumpers off press or turn it over for lay ups in the backcourt. If you do shoot threees and jumpers you better shoot 80% to win, they score so frequently that you can’t go on a drought or you’ll be down double digits before you know it.

Kinda same story different day.Nobody can handle the ball against them. Would like to see what might happen if somebody actually handled the ball against them.

I hate to break it to the wrestling purist but high school wrestling has to many weight classifications. Several states are in the middle of discussions with regards to returning to the original number of 12 weight classifications. Even it super wrestling states like New York, PA, Ohio, California and Oklahoma they are having to deal with an unusual number of forfeits.
