  3. Well then it is pretty simple. If they dont want to go then dont pay the money and be on a National Trip Team. Stay home save your money and have your food to eat.

  4. Same schedule as last year KEV-O. (You are right that it was definitely a step up from the cupcake schedule they have had in the past). They were 2-3 to start the season and then their QB Martinez got hurt and they ended up 6-6 beating all but one of the cupcake team they had left on the schedule. If they do come through the regular season healthy they could be dangerous but thats a big IF.

  5. The first half or your schedule is brutal. If you make it through unscathed then the gold ball is in your sights.

  6. The back and forth makes for good reading . Every now and then I'll do a little talking for fun but I never count a win until it's in the books. No doubt the Mavs will have another fine team and the Devils should always be a tough match with the system in place. I do my best to never look past any team on the schedule, sometimes that's hard but programs like Elizabethton,AC and all the top knoxville area teams will have my full respect going into that game. When the playoffs come around,I don't care who you line up against, that team has already proven it is capable of winning and should be considered a danger to your program and you never look past them. Tennessee baseball was the beast this year and by all rights should still be playing if the players and coaches all had done their job better then that team Greeneville shares something in common with.

  7. Yep. Been played even by those schools whose fans on this forum claim are pure as the driven snow.

  8. I'm one of the few here that wish Josh well. It's not his fault he's good at playing the game of recruiting that has been allowed for decades.

  11. I understand that gas prices are nearing $5.00 per gallon and the price of milk, bread, eggs, etc... are at record highs. However, when you tell someone that you are going to attend an event and pay whatever the cost is for that event you have in essence agreed to a verbal contract. TN USA Wrestling does not have the funds to cover the cost of uniforms, hotel rooms, transportation, etc... that was priced out based on X number of commitments. What needs to happen is that the invitations go out immediately after the state tournament and those individuals being invited should be given one week to accept or decline a spot on the team. At that time if they accept a spot on the team they will be given one week (7 days) to make a 50% non refundable down payment. If for any reason they back out at a later they forfeit the down payment and are still responsible for the additional 50% unless a replacement can be found. Yes, it's playing hardball but at some point and time people must accept responsibility for what they do and say.

  12. I see your point but when you have to reserve hotel rooms and vans for travel you cant cancel last minute and not be charged for those items. TNUSA does not have the money to cover all the expenses. The logical answer is to have the kids pay an amount by a certain time to reserve their spot.

  14. Couple of points 1. Maryville at 5? Come on 2. West ahead of Maryville, Alcoa, and Powell? West lost to all 3 last year. 3. There’s no way Carter is in the top 10 in the area. 4. Bearden already on probation 2 weeks into summer practice? Over under they have to forfeit 2 wins this season?

  15. Daddy ball got Coach Josh the job, he’s not going to stop playing it now. Bball coach’s son will still be QB for the mediocre bullpups.

  16. Pretty much accurate. And as Stars and I were ciphering about on that wireless talking box thing this morning, I think you can put Powell at #3 based on who they return, which is pretty much every skill player and some key defensive guys. Additions are going to bolster them up front. Be really surprised if anybody in 5A can give them issues. And speaking of 5A, I see West as the next best team on this side of the state. Central is going to take a step backwards, in my opinion. In 4A the best team in the Knoxville area will be AC, by far. They are loaded with skill players and have enough up front to be a really dangerous team. That Powell/AC game may see more points scored than did last year's game. And of course, Greeneville and Elizabethton will be at the top of 4A state wide along with AC. And I see South Doyle taking a step back in 4A, as well.
