All teams that are winning big get kids to transfer in. It's always been that way.

And for his friends. Shortly after my graduation, one of my closest friends was here one day and gone the next by his own hand...I don't know if or when I will ever fully escape the guilt of "did I miss something" or "was there anything that I could have done" to change the outcome. Don't agonize over something you have zero control over as I did for many years following...you won't find anything there no matter how many nights you spend analyzing every conversation that you can recall in your mind.

Every generation has got worse right on down the line. One Thanksgiving we were all at the table and everything was quiet and my grandfater just popped up and said "They'll think Highway to Ale". That upset him to pieces and it took getting older for me to really understand where he was coming from. I personally despise how the schools are ran now and what they teach and don't teach. At one time since I don't have kids I would have left Maryville High a wonderful donation but now I wouldn't donate those socialist a wooden buffalo nickel and have since changed it all to the animal shelter.

appreciate that! I looked at 5 star preps and thought about joining but I just don't think I want to spend that since it's not local to me. I honestly think it looks like a really great website for high school football news. I already pay for 3 subscriptions in middle TN so I don't mind paying. : )

I heard it ended 28-0 with Crockett really dominating both sides of the ball I didn’t get to make the trip over and watch but we play westview Friday night in Alamo so I’ll go see what kind of skill set we’re looking like this year

Same rumors as always, it would be the best for both schools. Nearly everyone knows it but a few HATE the Idea. I understand it and it would be sorta sad. The 2 schools have been BITTER rivals over the years but they would blend together very well. These kids hang out together a ton.

Donavan Stewart passed away this morning…saddened by the news and prayers go out to all that were close to him. Huge loss to Tennessee High School Football.

It was actually pretty evenly matched. HHS offense scored on two straight drives before MJ scored. MJ looked like they ran an RPO every single time they ran the ball and QB tried throwing it every time. HHS QB looked better than MJ.

And like the son, undersized. You cannot outrun genetics even with the obvious chemical aid. The measurables are what they are at the Power 5 level.

I’ve been quoted saying kids want to play at Beene for the tradition, plus tons of other reasons to want to play at SP. It Just seems like you guys will be able to outbid/outclass any other small county teams and it won’t be benefiting these kids that could be playing better competition than Copper Basin, Whitwell, Sale Creek and lookout valley (lol), those games will be bad! I doubt that Auburn commit plays a quarter. Who does that benefit more? Rings are nice no doubt.

It’s just helping SP win another title, not the kids. I was just beating the bush of I doubt they came there on their own free will without some sort of incentive which you guys have done before it was legal. Now that it is legal and you can do it, poor little SP doesn’t have enough money from all the skillets and cornbread festivals to wrangle a couple 3&4 star athletes from a city that’s 30x bigger and a private school.

We will agree to disagree on the limited places, either one of them could have ended up at a much bigger public school or private for the Collins kid. The type of programs that would actually get them ready for the next level of competition and put some walking around money and rent In their pockets. It’s all legal money for the kids family. You can’t tell or convince me them both ending up at a single A school with 350+ kids ain’t sketchy. I wish they would have scheduled CCS again, just to see how much both rosters have changed in a year.

Paying for rent like you all did the Gio kid is definitely an incentive to move from a big city to lowly Marion county. The last 2 “transfers” didn’t just spin the globe and their finger land on SP. Lol

Using the word Discipline after losing a coach like Smith and saying "I just wonder how in line and disciplined Puckett can keep them" has nothing to do about a player being black, white, yellow, purple, blue, red, etc. I know a bunch of mostly white teams i could say the same thing about if they lost a good coach like Smith, does that make me racist towards a mostly white team?
