Thanks everyone for all the kind words. Been a very bad day to be woken up at 5.30 to hear someone on the other line telling me my wife has passed away. I've known for a couple of weeks things were not looking good. I found her Monday Morning unconscoius and called an ambulance and I was told lastnight things were looking much better but she had a heart attack and passed on this morning around 4 a.m. There were many times over the past three years I couldn't go to the ballgames because I didn't want to leave her alone. I know she is in a better place as to be in the pain she has been in the past few years.

Indy was cheering for Cookeville because they already played Bartlett this year and lost. Probably didn't want to play them again. Should be a dandy tomorrow: middle tn final. In 4A. So awesome. So proud of CHS. A ball is coming back home with them.... lets make it gold!

Fulton just too good and too experienced for this young Upperman squad. The two best teams will meet for the championship tomorrow in AAA.

There's a saying that says that more things change the more they stay the same. I'm told that baseball is having similar issues as football did, and there is a common denominator. Parents - if you can't keep your mouths shut and let your kids play and the coaches coach, just stay your butt at home. You aren't doing anybody other than your own ego any good.

Is complaining about the refs to the press still a fine or penalty?

Problem was she couldn't guard Ally Weathers man to man and she kept trying it. Ally Weathers took the game over, plain and simple. I thought Gatlinburg Pittman should have went to Newman more down the stretch especially on the last possesion in regulation. Refs didn't take the game away. Ally kept taking it to the rim and Gatlinburg got away from Miss Basketball, IMO.

He lost his wife in the last day. No one could have taken care of her as well as he did. She was a good one, and will be missed. Love ya Jim.
