  1. It’s funny and sad to a degree to see these salaries thrown out for some of these schools. Looking at several of these schools, their tuition is 4 times what Catholic charges. That makes it a little easier to pay those salaries. When you’re losing the focus on education and teacher pay at the expense of paying coaches 2 or 3 times (or more) what the teachers make for teaching minimal to 0 classes, I have a problem.
  2. Yes. Map point to map point on google maps
  3. Good game high school football game. Powell made the plays they needed to win. Catholic didn’t help themselves dropping not one but two wide open TDS. The first one was right in front of me and couldn’t have been any easier or wide open for a short pass. Catholic has struggled up front all year which has made it tough to throw the ball or get much from the running game. Interesting call on the almost interception with the Powell player. He clearly made the catch initially but the receiver definitely tied him up before they hit the ground and pulled it from him. The Catholic penalty and giving up the sack before the last play took away the chance for a game winning FG. I was a little surprised at the inaccuracy of the Powell QB. I thought Green would have dominated our DBs who have struggled all year. As somebody said earlier, we gave up 300+ yards last week to a 3rd string QB.
  4. Knoxville Catholic looked pretty dominant vs. Brentwood Academy.
  5. Irish drop a potential TD pass and followed it up with a scoop 6 and another scoop 6 the next possession. Quick 21 point swing. Good effort for 2.75 quarters.
  6. QSouth is right about the money. I’d have preferred that money go to upgrading athletic facilities. An indoor athletic facility would have been much nicer in my opinion. LOL
  7. The three hour drive isn’t as bad for football since they games are on Friday nights but the midweek games for all the other sports are BRUTAL not to mention the travel costs. Hard to have any fan support as a visiting team or build rivalries when students can’t attend the games. Losing the hour coming home doesn’t help. LOL
  8. I think I’m about the only one that’s posted about/for Knox Catholic for the last few years. Team is very young especially at the skill positions but more importantly, Trevor Duncan a Tennessee signee hasn’t played yet after an off field injury. He should be back soon. He already looks like a SEC defensive lineman and will provide help on both lines. At least Powell and West have played us when it’s hard to get other Knoxville teams to play us. We’ve been short games the last few years because no one will play us. Webb has the best team they’ve had in a while and we both had open dates Friday but they wouldn’t play us. Nothing like passing up a game you could literally walk to when both teams need a game?????
  9. The odds are 100% I read the whole thread. Booger has always dropped enlightened views. When I asked Meske specifically about counting 8th graders, the response was 8th graders really don’t contribute. My response was Elijah Howard was All-State as an 8th grader and he may have contributed. Easy to determine your enrollment when you know the target number you have to come in below.... just saying.
  10. Nothing like not including the 8th graders in your numbers when some were starting on the varsity. What are the odds Webb and CPA were only a couple under the cutoff they help establish?
  11. add Knoxville to your list. They wanted scores by 6:00 which is tough when the games start at either 7:30 or 8:00.
  12. It’s a shame Oak Ridge, Clinton, Maryville,Fulton, etc. won’t play Catholic. If these teams want to make a run in the state tourney, they’re going to see this type talent. How long as it been since OR has made that long journey to Cedar Bluff?

    Baylor

Wonder if they wished they’d waited a day or two?
  14. Can’t imagine Baylor isn’t blowing his phone up considering he said he wouldn’t ind coaching near his family in either Chattanooga or Murfreesboro.

    Baylor

Rankin just retired from Alcoa and said he would possibly be interested in coaching again in Chattanooga or Murfreesboro to be near family. Could you make a better football hire from a resume standpoint? One of the national leaders in wins looks pretty solid to me.
  16. Then I guess it’s a shame either of them refuse to play Catholic. CAK could walk to the game.
  17. Two huge milestones for the Irish tonight as Senior BJ Edwards tops 2000 points and Junior Blue Cain hits 1000 in a win over Cookeville.
  18. Just giving Willie a hard time. My statement had the Shamrock Seal of Approval. LOL
  19. Check out our 6’3” manager. Playing volleyball in college but Coach should make her dress out just to have a big body and 5 extra fouls. Not often your manager is the biggest girl in the team picture. LOL
