Gallatin coaching situation

Coach Lussier at Father Ryan is really struggling to fill out a staff. About 6 teaching positions are currently being held by former assistant coaches. Also, assistant Danny Francescon stepped down during spring practice.

One tidbit: it looks as if former Head Coach Robert Jemison is leaving to become the Athletic Director at Harding Academy, a K-8 private school here in Nashville.

I`m Happy for Robert, he is a great guy. He was going to be in an awkward situation if he stayed at Ryan.

Also heard that former BA head coach Tom Moore is moving back to Nashville from Ohio. He is in Private business, but I wonder if he will be coaxed back into coaching as maybe a volunteer assistant. I will never get over how he was hung out to dry by "King Carlton" during the coup de tat of 2001 over at BA.

Tom deserved better than that.

Does anyone if Coach Walls has found a job in Alabama? Would be nice to hang on to him for one more season, but I know he wants to be with his family.

Also, any luck on an OC? Hope we aren't cutting too close. We need to get these guys in the system ASAP.

There are still rumors about both Dewayne Alexander & Brent Alexander. How are things shaping up at Wilson Central?

Dewayne Alexander is set in stone at Wilson Central, he got everything he wanted.

Brent Alexander is still under contract with the Giants for the next 2 years.

Offensive Coor. is still Porter.

Walls I heard found a job in Alabama. I also heard that he would return for the first semester only. Frankly I do not know what to believe!!

As it stands right now--Porter-runningbacks and Qb coach, Lassiter-O-line, Wilson Dbs and special teams, Dunn -recievers, and Hardy d-line and linebackers.

Pat Dyer from Macon Co. came really close to being on staff but no dice.

What happened to Gallatin as a Football Power? I left the state for Military Service from 84-94 and when I started following HS Football again, I noticed Gallatin wasn't the great Green monster they had been in the past. When did things start to decline?

I watched a few games at the Gallatin stadium in the late 70's and the early 80's. It was a great place to watch a game. It felt like the entire town came out to watch the games.

    • That was after the 2nd year of a 4 year cycle.  Since Covid we have been on a 2 year cycle.  So, there really isn't a "mid cycle" reclassification this time.   Idk if there's anything in place to address the issue of a school closing.  My guess is, nothing can be done.  This would be akin to the 1st year of a 4 year cycle, where a school has the 20% +/- but not allowed or even have the option to move up or down.
    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
