Clay County should win it all this year but we'll have to see. This is no "pie in the sky" post, they are a solid club with all the indgrediants to win it. They will win their region and substate game in which they'll either beat Temple or Grace Baptist, depends on who loses in that region. First things first though, need to get there and then talk about it!

agreed...i've watched them play...they're a good team...

UC will be in the BORO in March :o Go ahead and bank on it..

Weddle is a Man among boys, especially in 1A basketball where it usually just takes one superior athlete to make a run at a state title..

example of this : Trey Pearson with South Fulton

1A Basketball must be weak around Northeast TN because if you think one superior athlete will win a state championship you are dead wrong. Ask Willie Kemp (bolivar) if one person can beat Middleton. Middleton has won 7 games now and 6 of those wins have come against AA & AAA team. Just bring the A game if you make it to face Middleton.

There are a lot of Single A teams that can beat AA and AAA teams..Just remember ..there is one team in Single A that beat Middleton ,the state champs, once last year and should and would have beat them again at their own gym if Tony Tyler would have hit his last free throw with 20 seconds left in the sub-state..And then it would have been no overtime and no State Championship...But Middleton did win and I will give them credit for that..Just letting you know..that at this time ..Lake Co is undefeated and have practically that same team back...

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
