Well, as many thought, Gallatin smashed Hillwood tonight. Gallatin's D made a mockery of the Hillwood offense. The Wave D had 4 ints, 3 forced fumbles and a TD. Four different Gallatin players scored a rushing TD, and Hillwood had -47 rushing yards on the night. The only 1st down Hillwood had came with 1.8 seconds left in the game when they fumbled out of bounds. They even had a rough time moving the ball on the Gallatin 3rd team defense.

Final: Gallatin 42 Hillwood 0

Gallatin has yet to give up a point this season, but if you haven't seen the defense play the goose-eggs aren't as impressive as the performance on the field. The D is consistently hitting ball carriers in the backfield, especially QBs.

I'm not sure what all the stats are, but I'm going to guess that they've given up somewhere between 175-250 total yards in these first two games.

Beech should be a little better test next week, but they lost Friday night to Kenwood(?).

That was a defensive clinic!!!! Gallatin's defense was incredible compared to the overmatched Hillwood team. Hillwood was one of the weakest 5-A schools that I have ever seen. Or maybe we just made them look that way....which ever the case Hillwood could never get on track. When they attempted a pass, they were heavily pressured. When they ran, they were met at or behind the line of scrimmage. Gallatin still needs to work on the offense. While they were given short field postion several times, Gallatin needs to work on the long sustaining drives. But we were definitely more crisp blocking tonight with at least 6 different runningbacks and 4 different quarterbacks getting to play. We also went 3 deep in the line. One can only hope that the Toppers can get things right to avoid a winless season.

There were plently that could make a tackle, especially since most of the guys played and were starters on that playoff team. It was just a big difference in the jump to 5-A. And by the way, Hilltopper did not play for the 12-1 team. He sat out that year.

Wow Janeti, you are absolutely mistaken. I've been gone all weekend & just saw your post about hilltopper, & I decided to post myself even though he already did.

I'm taking up for him because you are a dummy. If you knew ANYTHING, you would know that he played that WHOLE season. But apparently not.

He was one of most valuble players that year & was an asset to the Hillwood team.

Have a great day.

Wow, Again with the Sensitivity!!!!!!!! No wonder Hillwood was so bad last year. If the players spew out the escuses you've been spewing out, then Hillwood has no hope. They are doomed before they start. Some teams are just over matched. Hillwood just can't match up against Gallatin, much less anyone else in the Region. Man up and just take this one on the chin! No contest GALLATIN ROLLS!

HillTopper- Metro Football fans are like the Metro Teams, "They always talk the talk, but really never walk the walk."

Wait a minute now, I dont remember Gallatin getting early tickets to the Bluecross bowl either now, so dont be talking about metro like you all are Maryville or somebody good or something
