Greenbrier vs. Marshall County

I'm taking Greenbrier based on the fact that they've owned Marshall Co. since the 2003 season began. I also like the fact that Greenbrier is playing at home in this one and as I have stated numerous times on this site the Cats are very difficult to beat when they're playing at "Bobcat Field". Marshall has #2 Hightower and #4 O'Neal but as they found out when they played Sycamore two weeks ago they will miss the services of #18 Gower in this one. He's a difference maker without a doubt.

Greenbrier: 16

Marshall Co.: 14

I agree with the score..... just not with the winner.

WJ got smart when he put Cavalla at quarterback to go alongside Hightower at running back. That's a pretty lethal backfield. Now if I were Marshall I'd be throwing it about 6-10 times per game and every other snap my playmakers would be running and making plays with the football in their hands.

yes, still plenty of fireworks

Last Friday nights game looked like the old days Oneal, Hightower, Woodside, Binkley, Murphy, Greer and Braden these kids have played together since pee wee brought back alot of memories.

I think Marshall Co stays on top again this week.

I couldn't agree more! Let's not leave out Walker (speedy recovery)Wilson and Evans..they also had a great game! These boys are very close and play well together. I'm proud of each and every one of them...Go Tigers!!!

I couldn't agree more. Greenbrier has always been a hardnosed team. Don't get me wrong Marshall has had their good years but I'm taking the Bobcats in this one.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
