Two words..................SELECTIVE ENROLLMENT.............private schools dont actually recruit, they just decide who gets in and who doesnt. If your son stinks at football then he goes to the back of the line. How sad. :D Thats just another "Life Lesson" that should be exploited on TLC.

????????????????????????

Totally lost me on this one.

This post you responded to me on was a joke posted in reply to FCSprideatUT. I'm not following your reason for posting this to me.

Do these transfers have names?? Ive heard some of them just came from David Brainerd... :D

just curious which two teams will beat them in '07?

Don't know their names or where they came from but there were 6 or 7 seven that were with the team when they came down to South Pittsburg. My guess is that there will be some more this year and every year afterword. The ones I saw at the SP game were definitely athletes that will make an impact on the Silverdale team this year. Coach Allen was very excited about his transfers and what they would do for him.

I heard that the 12+/- transfers that Rob Eldridge talked about coming to Temple are going to happen. Not all will be eligible to play this year but watch out in 2008

In the region I think SP and LV will have the best chance of beating them but it won't be a sure thing by any means. I'm not sure who they play in their 3 non-region games.

Friendship

Jo byrns

South pitt

Mt. Pleasent

Gordonsville

there is one team that i think could suprise a lot of people and it is Greenback. they started 7 sophomores and freshman last year and still had an explosive offense at times as they put up 33 against coalfield and 32 against gp but the defense will need a lot of work as they gave up an average of 42.7 points per game. so if there defense improves and they get the morale up they will suprise a lot of people.

Hate to burst your bubble but you have to be realistic. They lost to Coalfield 67-33 and GP 46-32. Did most of those 33 and 32 points come in the last half of the game? In most of their games they lost by 30 or more and they ended up 1-9. I wish them well and hope they get better but the chance of them being competitive with the top teams in 1A is pretty slim

i dont think that greenback is going to contend with any of the top teams in 1a, but however i do think that they are a very athletic team and have a good shot at winning the first round of the playoffs, and i dont know when the 32 points against GP came in but i played against them in the coalfield game and they moved the ball on us all night and was putting up points. greenback will by no means have a shot at playing in the boro' and they r not one of the top teams in the state the only reason i mentioned them was they are widely overlooked and could be a suprise.

If they were moving the ball against Coalfield all night then maybe Coalfield was having a bad night. It doesn't look like Greenback did much else all season. It would be a surprise if they made that big of a turn-around this year but... Hey...that's why we go out and play the games.

in no particular order.

South Pitt- loads of talent, with a little heart they'll be unstoppable

Mount Pleasant- returns Mr. Football and a stellar supporting cast.

Friendship Christian- returns all linemen and running backs.

Gordonsville- Returns many starters

"No particular order" . You know Gordonsville will be the team to beat this year so go ahead and list them at #1.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
