Greeneville Head Football Coach

a program like Greenville doesnot have to take a chance with a assistant. They can hire a small school successful head coach and let good assistants go for the small school job>

I think it is obvious by the make-up of the hiring committee that they are looking to attract someone with serious head-coaching experience.

Barb I enoy reading your posts and find you to be very knowledgeable however, I must disagree with your assessment of this. I think it is obvious that this is not a top priority for GHS. Coach Zeller was relieved of his duties more than 60 days ago and the administration is still in the process of taking applications? To my knowledge the first interview has not even been conducted. Such a process does not nor should it take anywhere near this long. A committee, regardless of who it is made up of means nothing unless some time of action is being taken and progress made. The time passed several weeks ago for showing the community that this was a high priority.

I was talking to coach Richards yesterday and he was saying they have some coaches in mind and they are looking at there backround. He said a couple of names. The coaches he said had some state tittles under there belt, those coaches were all from out of state. One of the big problems is money he is worried about what they want to get paid.

I believe it was prudent to wait until some of the other high-profile positions had been filled to begin interviewing. There are still a lot of good programs looking for coaches righ now.MBA, Centennial, Independence, Hixson, Chatt. Central, Karns...the competition is fierce for qualified head coaches. I expect Greeneville to look out-of-state, possible Virginia for their next head coach...I hear a couple of good 'uns are interested.

    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
