Webb Catholic Stone Memorial (new district team doing very well) Dalton (GA) Harrison (GA) Sounds like a tough couple of weeks. Dalton is not off to its best year so far. 9-3 to date and McCallie beat them 5-2 last week. Good luck.

Nashville Panther
QUOTE(wbcsoccer11 @ Apr 9 2007 - 03:59 PM) 826433228[/snapback]well isn't it funny you look at the teams in 2A and they are almost all private schools? I wonder why, you think they might get to recruit a little Its not the recruiting - Its the demographics First off, Hume Fogg, Portland, Westview, Northside are all Public schools but your point is well taken. The reason for this is not exactly recruiting (although in theory all private schools have to recruit students to their school in general. The reason is demographics. Soccer has been dominated in America by Upper-middle class players. Just look at who is at state public schools with high SES (Franklin, Germantown, Farragut, Brentwoon, Hendersonville) and private. For A-AA most public schools are small towns/ rural areas and private schools. It will take a generation or two for things to equal out. (then again the high costs of travel might always be an advantage for the upper income students.

They tied a good #4 Knox webb team at Webb's home before webb went on to beat #3 Knox West team that beat #3CAK. Science Hill beat a 4A #5 rank Myrtle Beach (SC) team and lost to exceptionally good teams like St Pius X(GA) and state champs from around the country. From the last few weeks to present, Science Hill has been struggling with injuries to key players: Kilgus(head), Matt Runyon, Horton, and Eddie Yah all battling injuries. I don't know how they can be rank that low, but hopefully they are all back and fully fit before they face CBHS in their first game at the Barry Redmond tournament. smittygk00
Portland 1, Clarksville NE 0 Portland won on the road in probably their worst played game of the year. No first touch and sloppy passing, though NE never really posed an offensive threat.
