MBA vs. Father Ryan

Wait a minute. By reading your posts are you suggesting that if Ryan won and their fans went to tear down the goal posts that the students and alums from MBA would have a physical confrontation with them? Isn't that called a riot? I'm pretty sure that MBA students and alums are not paid or trained as security of law enforcement officers and a reaction like you described is a true recipe for disaster. I think you may have just gotten a little emotional in your post to say that, because I am sure you don't believe or supporrt that scenario. I predict Ryan will make it a great game this time.

MBA is one of the classiest schools you'll encounter, to think that they'd pay the refs is absurd.

 

Also, to think that the MBA students and alums in the stands would allow the Ryan students to storm OUR field and tear down OUR goal posts is ABSOLUTELY ABSURD.

 

I hope no one gets injured in this game because it is going to be one of the most physical contests of the season.

I hope everybody has the good sense to stay in the stands, no matter what the outcome. Fans going onto the field and destroying property is the sort of thing that invites TSSAA intervention, something nobody wants. Additionally, it's dangerous. Finally, for all the interest that the game holds for the fans, it actually belongs ot the kids on the field. Let them celebrate (or grieve) with their teammates, and get off the field safely.

Ive played with worse. MBA is darn lucky that Chris Jordan wasnt playing during that game. BA will run all over MBA in state.

 

But this thread is about the Ryan game. I am sure that not a lot of people will not have any hope for Ryan, so it is up to Ryan and its players, as it always has been, to under this struggle through teamwork and to fight for pride.

 

obviously Vol98 has shown that MBA players are still Mamma's boys, so give em more to cry about, like a jammed toe.

Smyrna's number one line backer from last year team who i think is now a senior has been out most of this season with turf toe (sprained toe).

I agree wholeheartedly with the post on the first page that this rivalry should be treated with a little more respect...It`s been over 35 years since I roamed the halls on Elliston place, so I guess I`m closer to cro-magnon status....I am under no illusions about the game Friday. MBA should, and, probably will win this game. They have clearly demonstrated their penchant to win against quality opposition this season. They don`t do anything fancy, but they do have excellent execution and don`t make many mistakes....That being said, I`m still proud of the Irish.....They WILL show up at MBA and play the game!! ...They have made steady progress under Coach Lussier......This year, they were able to defeat every team they were supposed to...and , if their 3 losses come to MBA and Brentwood Academy, that`s nothing to be ashamed of.....Considering where we were 4 years ago, I`ll take 9-3...This year has been a lot of fun....In the world of Division II, every game you play is against a quality, well coached opponent. Ryan and JPII will always participate with somewhat of a handicap, but that`s life! As former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld once said, "You go to battle with the Army you have, not the one you wish you had"

Let me remind you that there are NFL players who do not play for weeks at a time because of a broken toe or turf toe. Hadouken you are turning into the new John Brown. You need to shut your mouth. You claim you are a Father Ryan ex-player/fan/etc. But in your post you say that Jordan will run all over MBA in the final. Already giving up? Go away

 

As to those talking about me saying we will storm the field, take it easy. Paul Davis/Jim McIntyre would never let us on the field/court during my time at Ryan, and I suppose they won't now either. It was a joke(SARCASM)
