Who is Cheatham County? Who said anything about them playing AE? I said the school you represent, which appears to be Cheatham County, is not within 5 TD's of Fulton. I was wrong. If it is, in fact, that "C" County you mention, then Fulton is not 5 TD's better. They would be about 7. AE looked that bad because Fulton is that good. Montgomery struggled to even complete a pass because the Falcons have the best secondary in 3A. If the Roadrunners met Cheatham County, it would get ugly.

Speaking of the band..... I know they're entertaining but also counter productive. Is it to Pearl-Cohn's advantage to have a loud distraction blairing while your trying to run your offense? Does the band even know their at the football game to support the team & not hender them. Here's a new concept.... 4 quarters of distraction and a halftime show. I'd prefer to leave the bump & grind show on the field and not watch it during the game. Play when you score, not because you're bored! Thank God Catholic didn't have the same mentality with their bagpipe lady. Can you imagine 4 quarters of that irish folklure!

Now that you mention it.... I remember their late enterance into the stadium last year too. I think they like the attention. The bass drum cadance & hand jive parade coming in late acting like their time is more important than the TSSAA's scheduled time. Kinda like when the annoying fat lady walks into church 15 minutes late and says "Hello!!! Sorry I'm Late!!!! At least I'm here!!!! Did you miss me??!!?".... then smiles, sits down, and says you can start now.

As good as the PC band is.... this ain't battle of the bands. We'll give you that victory.... we came to play football.

So you are coming this week??????

Nice to see you are posting now dandy82 /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> I thought you'd never come ack after that loss last week. It wouldn't be the same without reading your nonsense this week /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Road2Three, Cheatham Co. would easily play a competitve game against Austin East. They aren't "world beaters" trust me. I saw them on film against Fulton last week and they were very out of control /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Hey Biggun.

How about vittles in the Boro? Headed to watch Bearden vs. Smyrna. I know Smyrna is a heavy favorite, but I like the way Bearden can match up. Not to highjack the thread, but I know you like the info. Wilkes is a great prospect, but Bearden has a Corner by the name of Cunningham that goes 6-2, 200+, and is a sub 48 440 guy. Wilkes can out-quick him, but he won't out-jump him like I saw him do against Riverdale earlier in the year. Halladay @ QB is the best dual threat QB outside of Cobb @ Alcoa east of I-65. Yes, that includes Mason. Heck of a Safety as well. Smart. Headed to Harvard. Wilson Cates with a better arm. Their Defense is stout vs. the run. Held Stering at Farragut to 90 yds, and shut down Billy Blount. SR team with good OL/DL/LB's. Folks at Bearden have been waiting on this class for yrs. FWIW, they hate the fact that Catholic set up shop in West Knox. more than anyone. Said this team would have rolled last year as well as this with Harrison Smith, Phleger, Walden, the Tait brothers and a number of other kids.

From what I saw in Round #1 with the PC/Howard game, it certainly seems that PC has an advantage with respect to the OL/DL experience factor. While Popovich and Osborne did not strike me as being particularly big, they did seem to come off the ball well, and keep a nice base while blocking. They along with the others up front also seem to have good feet/quickness which allows for decent protection when the pocket is moving for Mason. As I think back, it seems that while PC has more upperclassmen up front than Fulton, Osborne might have been the only starter back from last year. Fulton has a bit of a size advantage up front, IMO. Those kids have improved quite a bit since playing against a pretty good OL/DL in Oak Ridge, and have certainly played against big, athletic lines this yr. in AC, Catholic, and to a certain extent AE. Coach Black has done a really nice job with them.

I think both Harris and Griffin are good LBs. Run well, athletic, pretty good tacklers. Angles might get them in trouble. Actually, false steps, then angles. Use hands well to get off blocks, and can deliver a very good pop when taking on the lead blocker. Would expect some of the Fulton OL to find that out the hard way. They still play too high when going to block at the next level, specificaly, the center. I know he's 6-7, but you still gotta bend son. On the other hand, 2-3A has outstanding LBs and Fulton is used to that. Coleman @ AC will play on Saturdays, as will Kenny Jones at AE while hurt a bit can run w/anyone @ 6-2, 225. Trusler @ Catholic scrapes as well as any, and Tait just blew up OL/FB types all year. Then you gotta go against Stokes in practice. 6-1, 230, MVP of the Ship last yr.

Mason is very, very good, but he will be challenged by Fulton's secondary. Knight, Vanoy, Cox, Johnson, etc will get open, but won't stay that way long. Those kids can cover. Been the strength of the team since the summer passing leagues. Mason will need to be on target, and someone better keep an eye out for Cobb. Be tough for Mason to break contain IMO.

Offensively, Fulton can run the ball. Just a fact. Lose Demarcus Stevens, plug in Jam Fine. Lose Fine, plug in a kid by the name of Rogan. Lose Rogan, plug in Cobb. Tough runner, and decpetively fast. Put Stokes in front of him, and he'll get you 4-5 a pop. Blair can throw it, but it's really Humphrey who can go get it, that makes it work. Seems Blair just has to throw it to a spot. Hump may not be the biggest, fastest, jumpingest WR, but he does have the best body control of any WR I've seen this year. Smith and Tyson are right there too.

Obviously, I know less about PC, than Fulton. One thing that does stick out while thinking about these two teams in terms of a difference is risk tollerance. Seems like the PC kids, against Howard were "trying" to play in a system. That's ok. Not a bad thing. Coach is still kind of new, players learning, etc. This year, more so than others, it just seems like Fulton has nothing to lose, and they play that way. No one expected them to get this far. "We expect to be in the Boro every year...blah, blah, etc." Even Road, Photo, and Tad had to question that line this year. I like the approach Buck has taken with this group. It's a young bunch, and they are having fun, and just don't seem to feel any pressure.

about that loud band you was talking about! that band who was honered in The tennessean this year, that band that first or came in second last year in almost each tournement they were in. What they do at home when they show up late to the game is not to show off and get everybody attention, but that is a pearl-cohn tradition being doing it since 1996, and everybody thinks we play to much. go to a maplewood vs pearl, or whites creek vs pearl. naw nevermind you guys on coacht will really be complaining then! yall are a trip finding anything to say we getting advantage! I guess that means TSU marching band, is wrong to.

PHOTO,

I HAVE GREAT, EXCITING NEWS FOR YOU!

Here's the thing, Catholic really thought they would still be playin and their BAGPIPE LADY had booked her calendar accordingly. Well since Catholic lost early...you know the story...she heard about the distraction of PC's band and she wants to help. She is willing to come to the game Friday night. Only one problem, she needs a ride to the game. My car is full of car seats, blankets, etc, etc. I told her you would be happy to give her a ride! I don't know what kind of car you drive, but you might want to consider driving something BIG. She said with that long of a drive she would need to warm up and practice some music along the way. Something about sitting for that long and trying to keep her lungs expanded...I don't know all the techniques you use to play bagpipes. You will probably need to ride with the windows down. It might get a little loud. I have extra hand warmers so your hands don't get cold while you drive. If you think the music might get annoying, I have an old walkman you can use, but the only song it plays is "The Final Countdown." (my cassette tape got stuck when I use to have to practice my cheerleading routine to that song. Anyway, 3+ hours of The Final Countdown or 3+ hrs of Irish bagpipes...you choose.

MORE GOOD NEWS!

Wal Mart has hired extra Christmas help this year and they are going to let the "Greeters" off early to ref the game. They will get off early enough to add some Polident and clean their glasses and change into their stripe shirts. Also, because Catholics season ended early...PC hired their conditioning trainers for their referees. They have been working on low impact water arobics to help prevent any injuries from flag throwing. I hope they have no neck injuries because Fulton's LARGE WHITE NECK BRACE has been missing from the FHS training room for weeks. We don't know who took it, but we have our suspicions.

One more thing PHOTO,

Someone told me you have a hidden talent of playing a mean Accordian! (and I thought you could just take pictures!) IF we get to have a parade this year maybe you and the BAGPIPE LADY can play a duet and lead the parade. You will

have plenty of time to discuss this and plan the music on the long trip Friday! Let me know about the walkman!

You don't have to thank me just consider this an early Christmas present from one loyal FHS FAN to another! GO FALCONS!

Okay folks HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!! It's the same preview as last year and it's going to eventually take place at the exact same sight as last year. Only difference from this year to last year will be that this year's game will not be the day following Thanksgiving. Turkey Day fell one week earlier than normal this year thanks to the fact that 11/1/07 was on a Thursday this year.

NOW TO THE GAME.........................

First off we should eliminate those who played last year before anyone brings that one to mind. On the Fulton Falcons side we'll go with #1 Humphrey, #6 Rogan, #21 Winters, #42 Mathis, #44 Gildner, #63 Johnson, #66 Reilly, #72 Higgins, #75 Simms, #77 Wiley-Gatewood, & #99 Hamilton. On the Pearl Cohn Firebirds side we'll go with #5 Mason, #17 Gupton, #83 Gordon, #45 Paye, #22 Gregory, #54 Hudgins, #53 Brown, #65 Smith, #74 Davidson, #42 Logan, #78 Curry, & #32 Horton (who missed the Fulton game last year due to injury). ANY TALK ABOUT ANY OF THESE PLAYERS IS NOT GOING TO HELP MATTERS IN THIS WEEK'S GAME BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL GONE OFF TO BIGGER & BETTER THINGS IN LIFE /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Fulton returns from that team #2 Tyson, #3 Cobb, #4 Smith, #5 Stinson, #9 Humphrey, #10 Blair, & #27 Stokes just to mention a few that I can recall. Pearl Cohn returns #15 Mason & #56 Osborne on offense and on defense they return #2 Harris, #3 Griffin, & #23 Knight. THE FALCONS RETURN MORE EXPERIENCE ON THE FIELD FROM THE GAME THAT TOOK PLACE IN NASHVILLE LAST NOVEMBER!!!!!

A lot of those same players are going to be expected to be major factors in this one if either of these teams wants to go to the Blue Cross Bowl in two weeks. In last year's game Fulton won because they won the battle up front in the line of scrimmage and they also ran the football and stopped the run because of that. In Fulton's 26-12 win at Pearl Cohn last year Jock Stinson's TD pass on the screen at the very end of the third quarter proved to be the "back breaker" to the Firebirds hopes. #2 Tyson, #4 Smith, & #9 Humphrey will present major problems to the Firebirds on both offense at receiver and on defense in the secondary. Those guys can play. #27 Stokes is a stud at linebacker. On the Pearl Cohn side #15 Mason is a quarterback quite like Fulton has never seen this year (YES THAT INCLUDES MONTGOMERY FROM AE). In last year's game Mason was injured and his mobility was severely limited in the Firebirds loss. This year he is 100% and ready to go. Mason has a new set of receivers to throw the ball to but they are all good and can present problems. #17 Hathaway, #19 Collier, #23 Knight, #85 Venoy, #82 Cox, & #81 Johnson are all players who'll see action and likely see the ball coming their way on Friday night. On defense the Firebirds are very good. They play hard and will stick you. #3 Griffin & #2 Harris are two players that Fulton knows all about. They are studs.

NOW WE KNOW WHO ARE PLAYERS THAT RETURN FROM LAST YEAR'S GAME & WHO THE PLAYERS ARE THAT ARE NOT GOING TO BE ON THE FIELD FROM LAST YEAR'S GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!

What are some keys to this game and who will take the "rematch" this time around???????????????????

Buck Coatney's Falcons have won 3 out of 4 State Titles. Tony Brunetti's Firebirds have now reached the State Semifinals in each of his first two years as the PC head football coach.

fulton has amazing defense starting with cobb at DE and stokes MLB fulton has one of the best secondaries in tenn #2 tyson is lock down corner and on the other side is #9 hump and #4 smith can read a QB very well at free safety and #11 siler is a covering SS likes to come up #12 mckinney is good safety to i have been to a couple of fulton games and i'v seen mckinney blast sum people he's little but plays like he's 225! i don't think mason will be doin much on fulton's defense fulton will pick him apart like last weeks games

fulton wins by alot

How 'bout win more than 4 games....LOLOLOLOLOLOL......

All WH has done is get to the playoffs, win a game occasionally, and then go home (usually before Thanksgiving). THEY HAVE 1 REGION TITLE IN 10 YEARS!!!! Wow!!! That's a great powerhouse now /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Cheatham Co. has been to the playoffs the last six years. They've won playoff games. Also like WH the Cubs have NO REGION TITLES to speak of in recent memory.

Don't act like you are a powerhouse because you just plain are overrated year in and year out. Your coaches are great but your players are just average at best. DEAL WITH IT!!!!
