There are throwers that go and lift weights everyday and throw 30+ times at practice and have to go on their own time on weekends to practice and go from nowhere on the radar to beating a favorite for the State at Sectionals and qualifying for State in their first year of doing the sport...

...but you can throw them all together with the other guys that lounge and get nothing done.

Take it easy man. We all know that some throwers to work very hard to be the best in their area, and we also all know that there are the lazy group of throwers. Nobody here is insulting your work ethic, or that of the good throwers who work to get where they want to be. However, I will say this: By and large, throwers (on a high school level) are the laziest on a track team. Again, there are many that are very good and lift and throw often and commit themselves to getting better, and are not lazy at all. But they aren't as much fun to poke fun at.

Yeah, I see what you mean... It's frustrating having that stereotype.

But anyways...

Who are the favorites in the field events? I know a there was a ton of people in state that graduated.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
