I talked to Jordan's Dad today at the Eastman and he said the baseball coach would'nt let JORDAN run track . When I was in school one of my coaches was Richardson's Father so I know exactly what the score is there. Bradley has his own style but I have a good feeling about this group and Bradley and Fletcher have a lot to prove with one season to do it in. I feel confident they will work in support of each other. With the talent level we have for '08 there is no excuse for failure. The '06 Seniors were God given talent wise but this group is deep all the way to the Frosh. So expectations should be high.

I would like to commend him for assisting a South footballer in the scholarship process. He doesn't limit himself to just DB as he has offered assistance to Stacy on occasion (the Maryville game comes to mind) and is a statesman for his sport and his town. I have much respect for him. Even if he doesn't wear socks. But I'd still like the chance to give them a spanking.

I have the utmost respect for Graham Clark I'm very familiar with how he helps with other kids from other schools. He is a great compliment to this area. But I would still like get them back on schedule for we can show them were the real talent is going.

Bud,,, the only reason Chris played varsity at DB is because there offense stunk so bad they had to try something .But it paid off Chris had a great year.Had Cassell stayed they would have had two freshman tailbacks starting on varsity .Hey, Sensabaugh is a great player but Cassell is as good if not better .And I know he's faster !Why ,because I have seen them run a many of times with Cassell most of the time 5 yds out front. And hey I pray every night that they will play again because South would put a kick butt on DB.South has so much more talent so with that being said!! BRING IT ON MIGHTY DB Oh by the way South did,nt need Cassell on varsity last year they had so much talent .

Mighty big talk from a program that hasn't beaten us in 16 years. It was your AD that dropped the series, not ours. And if memory serves me the last drubbing you took was about 44-0. So you sure have a lot to brag about don't you rebelredneck.

'DBTeepee, have you ever heard that song I'm not as strong as I once was,we'll thats DB. There talent pool is running low and our's is running over!!! And we're talking about the present not the past,to many DB fans like to stay in the past . And do'nt get me wrong I pull for DB alot of my friends kids play there .The talent just is'nt there at the skill positions, besides Chris Sensabaugh who else do you have that stands out.And Chris is a great player but he ca'nt beat teams by himself. I pray to GOD that they will put us back playing next year!!! Heck I wish it was this year.

Jamie Crawford QB

Sammy Collins OL

Ryan Church Center

The list can go on and on.

I can name a lot of good players DB has next year.

BTW You both are wrong about the South-DB Series it was actually the Sullivan County Schools Director that said the series should stop due to all the fights and things that the series brings with it.

I didn't realize that Fantasyland had a Colonial Heights address. Talk about one-man-teams: look no further than Curt Phillips. But now he is gone and it's time to come back to reality. As far as DB goes, it says a lot about your program when eveyone thinks you had a bad season after you finish 2nd in your conference and knock off perennial state power Oak Ridge in the playoffs. If you want to start up a new series with the tribe, I say bring it on. I'm sure the Indians would love to start a new 16-game winning streak!!!

Comp, realize you're talking to Mr. Carr himself. You're fast, son, with good instincts...too good to be on here tooting your own horn. That job belongs to us fans. Good luck in your preparation.

And since this is a South thread, I have to admit that you've got me very curious as to what 'running' oriented offense you have seen signs of, Comp. Great teams adjust to the strengths of their personel. Great programs train their players to fit their system. Are we on the verge of seeing a comprimise from the Rebels?

So yeah Hustle, a 2nd offense. Emphasize the word 2nd. Since we have become experts at the first why not add a powerful running offense. Anyway, that's what I got today. No compromise but instead contention. I also got confirmation on those 2 transfers. I think the lottery is public information right? With the powerful RB's we have I will let you guess the O. The transfers? One will play one will not. But they had nothing to lose by leaving Gunnings. That leaves one more yet to be confirmed transfer from the other side of the county on the other side of the county. Redneck...quit fighting with the DB people.

DBTeepee, just face it DB 's talent level is going down, when you have to bring up a freshman to jump start a stinking offense thats sad.Chris had a great year , but he had a great line to run behind thats gone. I would be willing to bet that he wo'nt have that much fun this year getting bashed around. Hey, just face it we have all the talent that Graham is used to having. With all that being said its a good thing we do'nt play we would put a butt kicking on DB!!! And by the way OAK RIDGE is in the same boat as DB, so brag about beating a ship thats sinking. HA!HA!HA! you crack me up

Chris Sensabaugh could have started as a Freshman for any team in the state and you know it. Refresh my memory, but didn't the mighty Rebels lose to a very average Greeneville team last year too. Say what you want to about the Tribe, but you don't win 700 games (a state record) by being a mediocre football program. You're no different than most high school fans in Northeast TN. Everybody loves to hate a winner. As far as the sinking ship analogy, one down year can hardly be considered a sinking ship. It's simply what happens when you have to play a lot of inexperienced underclassmen. If you're right, then South's ship sank back in the 1990's.

I don't know why I'm arguing with a South fan who is totally prejudice anyway. We're never going to agree so let's just leave it at that.

Well I decided to take in the track meet at North yesterday. I didn't realize Bobby was running track. Good for Bobby! However it was evident that the Spin Dr. was faster than Bobby...something I was a bit surprised to see. First time I had seen Fletcher run the hurdles since middle school. I went to see Watterson 'cause he is supposed to be the fleet foot but got disappointed to find out he has pulled a hamstring. And to make matters worse Fuqua was bummed out also. So Fletcher won both hurdle events. Tremendous form but not quite as fast as the two cripples. Would like to see him run against the cripples if they get healed up in time. Just wanted to report on the speed thing about Bobby. And if Cassell is so fast why doesn't he run track. When I played football it was a law that you had to run track. Oh well, that was back in the legal child abuse days.

Comp,

A little birdie did tell me that the Spin Dr. did look true to his old middle school, county record setting, hurdle form and looked good. Glad to hear that. Yes, Bobby has done well this year in track as well. Have to say, I have been very pleasantly surprised by Columbo as well.

Comp, latest report is that one of the cripples (Watterson) that you tried to see before, may return next week for the big meet. Assuming he is 100% and ready to roll of course. He doesn't want to jeopardize the start of football, but loves track and is chompin' at the bit to run. He's been keeping a close eye on the local 100M, 110M Hurdles, and 200M times on TriCitiesSports.com and reading Pat's articles in the SW Virginia Times. He is just hoping to be, as I said before, 100%, to be competitive with D. Carr and A. Sensabaugh /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> . Down the road, Taveras of ME in hurdles. SH's jumping specialist, Adrien Hill should not be overlooked on the 100M either.

South's Baseball coach would not be the first coach to prevent players from competing in another sport. I can remember the Legend Buck Van Huss discouraging football for his BBall players. I can certainly understand it when the sports directly overlap like baseball and track, not just partially overlap like football and basketball. With that being said, if Cassell continues with baseball, we will never see him on the track. Eventially we'll get to see his speed when he gets on the football practice field (April 28th). The kids have to choose their love at this point.

rebelredneck, I tend to believe that you are a player not a parent or fan, possibly a certain player, as you are directly stirring the City Boys' pot. You spoke of how the game in the MCL is slower than that of the city, and then directly speak of kicking DB's butts? You're conflicting yourself a bit. The pot gets stirred enough with our city cousins as it is, without calling them out knowing we do not play. I tend to agree with Comp that we need to wish DB well, as well as we need to wish success for other NET teams. Success breeds success and high profile players, like Curt, bring college coaches/scouts to our traditionally thought-to-be-weaker part of the state, that potentially could get various kids looked at. The whole "woulda, shoulda, coulda" thing between the two football teams doesnt play. The rivalry has been killed and is gone.

On a side note: It's really a shame that Fuqua - Elizabethtron is injured this year. He has dominated the 110H for the past years. He would have had another sub 15 sec hurdler to push him this year, but again, he's the other "cripple". Fuqua has done a great job representing NET at state in the past, so we all hope he heals up and can run again this season.

Lost to a very average Greeneville team that won TEN, ten, (10) games? That was a very good team that beat south and South more than return the favor later.

DB fans are amazing! Trying to knock one team they knock another!
