All i can say is WOW. I would be willing to bet that there are going to be a lot of people beating down the doors on Thompson Lane trying to get that job

In a somewhat surprising but eventually not an unexpected move, Coach Harris has resigned. Without saying much about basketball, Coach Harris leaves as a decent person, one who is truly concerned about his student athletes. this poster's observation is Coach Harris was big enough for the job but above that, he understood the needs of his players and how his program fell in the success of the school. He will be missed.

Changing Coaches usually causes some turmoil and uncertainity in a program no matter the sport and for this school, which opened about 5 years ago, the first coaches to leave can be toubling as they are fixtures and are the only coaches the student/athletes have had.

On the other side, great Principals understand things like this will go on and if in this case and many others at other schools lately, Great Principals surround themselves with great Coaches they realize they are people that are highly motivated. And to find highly motivated Coaches that have all of the other attributes too is certainly special. Such is this case.

Success is not the reason for leaving because 3 visits to the State Tournament in 5 years is success in anyone's book. Reaching another level professionally with college expenses looming very likely can be found as a cause. Finding that level can be particularly troubling if it cannot be seen.

Principal Nolan is known for finding and selecting top notch Teachers, Administrators, Coaches and Asst Coaches. He knows the business and with a 2000 student school he knows what is at stake. Good Luck Siegel.
