I have no idea about the turnover.

Jones is a good coach, I guess he had his reasons

Shelton I know nothing about

Farmer well everyone knows why he is gone

Froedden is better suited, in my mind, for college.

Sycamore seems like a good place but how well will those teams in that area compete with the west when tourney time comes.

/huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" /> You could say that about every other district in the state most years. West Tennessee has won most of the state tournaments in basketball the last several years. I don't think the coach is necessarily going to change that.

The thing about the Sycamore job is the area is growing so fast that they may find themselves in AAA after the next classification along with Creekwood and Montgomery Central. Being in the lower end of AAA isn't going to be very fun and they lose a lot of talent with the 2009 class. What are these guys going to do this summer?

Froedden is like the Larry Brown of highschool basketball. He doesn't seem to stay in one place very long. Sycamore is a good job with a nice tradition as far as I know. Maybe the next coach will show a commitment to the long term success of the program. Maybe they will find a coach that plays the West Tn style.

    • Wouldn't the easiest move be to move McCall up to HS Principal and have Gulley take over as MS Principal?
    • Bounder, you are correct. And it is so easy today. As a civilian today, I can check my 6th grade grandson’s grades in real time. 46 years ago as a young head coach, I knew who were my weak students and would do a weekly check. A decade and 1/2 later as an administrator, I would ask guidance for attendance, and grade reports as I did my own discipline reports. 5 years later I could run all those reports in a few minutes. today Text one the Secretaries and they can create a red flag report only printing the names with D’s and F’s or attendance and discipline issues. You are not even dealing with a whole team. The only problem with modern technology is someone who might not want to know.
    • No I didn't,  I just know jellico lost a few and should in playoffs tho....but they have alot coming in the next few yrs
    • The buck stops with the head coach, he should have know if any of his players  were not making the required grades. Either he has someone checking weekly before games and reporting to him or he should do it himself.
    • Freedom Prep has discontinued their football program. These are the teams that were on their schedule in case you are looking for a game:
