Where can you find out how each board member voted? I see numbers(5-4) (6-3) but no names attached.

According to the quote from Lynn Brown in the Maryville-Alcoa Daily Times, Mr. Brown voted for the new plan and "Board members Mike Tribune of McGavock High School, Bryan True of Summertown, Chuck West of Dresden and Ike White of Memphis Hamilton voted against the newly approved plan, Brown said."

"Mike Reed of Morristown West, Tommy Layne of Sequatchie County, Jerry Mathis of Tullahoma and Fred Kessler of Boliver Central joined Brown in voting for the Z-plan, he said."

Franklin County

Larwence County

Same District 8A AA that is in place for basketball,Baseball softball and Soccer and might i add in basketball this has become one of the tougher districts in middle tennessee good competion year in and year out

Yes, that is what they told us at the football coaches meeting if the Z Plan was approved; however, the numbers could change between now and September and Lawrence Co could move in another direction. The question for Marshall County was are their numbers going up or staying the same?

Either way, I certainly have no problem with this district... we will still try to keep Warren County on our schedule!

I'm probably wrong but I thought the top two teams in each district, regardless of postseason breakdown, earned the automatic bids. In this district, for example, it could be Bradley and Ooltewah.

Could be. It is confusing how they are trying to explain how the play-offs are going to work. But even still the only team out of the 6A that has a shot right now of the best district record will be Ooltewah. If Soddy were to turn their program then maybe two 6A could get the bids, but 5A in this district is the better half of this district. It wouldn't surprise me if the best two team out of this district is from 5A.

The Tennessean has a break down of how the districts would look if they used current numbers.

I was close on the Sumner Co. Teams with Hendersonville, Beech, Gallatin, Portland and Station Camp as well as Mt. Juliet and Lebanon.

I think it's a good start as to where expectations can be. They even broke teams down to 5A and 6A.

white house might play up to add to this district

Sorry about the post above... I sounded angry. I am just not a fan of Lynn. We will leave it at that.

Question:

Maryville will have 9 teams in their district. 2 from 5A and the rest from 6A. So do the two 5A teams automatically make the playoffs? A district with 4 5A teams and 4-5 6A teams makes sense, but Maryville's district has me scratching my head.

P.S. Lynn Brown is a moron. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Having 8 State Champions in football (6 in D1 & 2 in D2) is crazy and just plain stupid. The state of California only has 3 state champions in football and they have more high schools in the city of Los Angeles than are in the state of Tennessee. What do the schools in Tennessee want a mailorder football state championship that isn't worth the walnut base that holds the gold ball?
