Did he even play before his injury?

anyways, I talked to Taylor Babcock today and he broke the bone in his thigh (thickest bone in the body). So all prayers go out to Babcock. Furthermore, in todays AM practice Zach Zabowski hurt his knee. I was told it is "Blown Out"

I talked to Zach today after the morning practice and he said "it felt like a hyper extension but hurt alot worse." I don't know if you call that a blow out but its never good to hear.

P.S. Prayers out to Babcock.

Injury Updates

-Taylor Babcock had surgery this morning, and all went well. For those who didn't know, he broke his lower femur. According to doctor, he MAY be able to play very late in the season (Really hope he can play for Senior Night).

-As for WR Zabowski, I was told his knee injury will just put him out a week (which is the remainder of 2.a.days and the friday night scrimmage against Dobbyns-Bennett). However, I was told he intends to keep playing football, instead of throwing in the towel and just focusing on basketball

Best of luck to both guys

was either of these two going to have significant playing time. i know the zabowski is a good deep ball threat or fade in the endzone threat, but what about taylor?

i wish both of these two full and speedy recoveries.

"As for the game, I would say Maryville will win the game, Because of a talented coaching staff.. They always find a way to win".

I guess if Halls should win it would mean the halls players are better then? GQ is the man no question but having the tools to do a job never hurts. maryville has the tools to beat halls soundly. Someone above said halls 28 MHS 21. Halls won't score 28 vs. This Defence IMHO. Just watch.

Was last year's MHS defense, against which we scored 30, that much worse than this year's?

I hear what you are saying about having the tools to do it, however coaching is the key.

Look at the UT Vols, They have had some great players come through there., But what do they have to show for it?

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
