I miss 82 cat as well. He is a really great guy and one that I consider to be a loyal friend. He retired at the end of the season after serving many many yrs as the head honcho in the booster club. I know he is enjoying being a grandpa these days........but he is sure missed. His wit and insight were second to none, and he actually helped me to tolerate Smyrna. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

 

I agree 2P.....82cat brought some flavor to the boards.

Depends on who is making it, but it is NOT as good as Smyrna's. Smyrna's is the best I have tasted from a HS cocession stand.

 

While alot think I know nothing about football, I DO know good food! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

 

lol...well i think you know about football..lol...and thanks for the complament on our school hot chocolate...

 

unfortunatly i have to work down the street from the game,,i gotta find a way to keep updated

If you have never met 82cat, you missed one of the great supporters of Smyrna football. Man busted his tail for the football team and fed them WELL!

 

 

Was also one of the funniest folks on this board when he wanted to be. Alot of us from other schools actually miss his wit and football wisdom on here.

 

As to who is the backup QB for R'dale is, I have no idea at the moment as the one that was 'supposed' to be it is sitting out this season to be eligible to play at his NEW school. MTCS! You know the place where they have a GREAT qb coach and they actually throw alot.

 

As to hearing the Michigan fans sing, I have been there and heard it. Yes it is great, but they do NOT like folks singing 'Rocky Top' soon afterwards. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

 

ywah 82cat is awsome...does anyone know what happened to him?

      Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!

      Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.

      Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
