You think that is a hot rumor, I just heard that Stanton Stevens entered a Randy Jackson (from American Idol) look a like contest last weekend, I also heard Bailey is really upset about it.

 

Did he at least win that contest?

I did not realize that the starting QB for Ensworth High School (private school in Nashville currently 10-0) ,Tavarres Jefferson, was an Oak Ridge kid.

Is this true? If so was he forced? I will believe it when I see it in the news.

No, I have heard nothing. Based on this article from the Oak Ridger (Registration Requred) I would say nothing has happened yet.

Stanton will never resign.

No he will not quit. That's for sure. Some people have suggested that Stanton needs some better assistants around him. This is a tough situation because it's not like it used to be. To get a job teaching in the Oak Ridge School system you have to be certified to teach the subject that has an opening. What makes that more difficult is that once you get a job in OR teaching, you keep it, you don't give it up. So, there are very few openings each year. What's the realistic chances of a good football coach being ceritified to teach one of the very few job openings each year. On top of that, you can only have a couple of volunteer coaches. So, it is a very tough situation to fill a staff with good proven assistants. Times have changed. It used to be at Oak Ridge and other places, if they wanted you to coach football, they would find a spot or even create one for you. It's not like that anymore. The federal and Tn Departments of Ed have tightened up the rules in that area. You now have to be a "highly qualified" teacher If they do make a change, the new coach will be in the same situation as far as filling a staff with quality assistants, unless he has a couple of volunteers to come in with him that are really good coaches.

He spoke Thursday night at the Jefferson Middle football banquet and he didn't indicate at all he wouldn't be back. In fact he talked a lot about next year. I doubt he'll ever resign, he'll have to be fired.

Well ORidgecat with that being said it looks like that's exactually what they did with Stanton. Babysitter at the alternative school. I'm told they had to put a pager on him so they could find him during the day when he was suppose to be in class.

 

As for the original question on this thread What does it look like for the off season DISMAL!!!! Nothing new, SOS

As an outsider looking In , I can't believe Stanton Stevens has not been fired yet , what in the world would it take to get fired ? I'll get back to where I belong now , come on Bladerunner , we got a game to go to tonight !
