i think it comes down to RBs oakland sam bass and presious valentine smyrna bryson and jarvis hicks.... i will go with oaklands backs in this game and to pull out the win in a very close game

I think if your compared those 2 vs. Smyrna's dynamic duo, its advantage Bulldogs. But as our boys have done all year, Oakland has gained the upper hand by their strength in numbers. At one point, Oakland had 6 sophmores in the starting lineup on offense, a little something to chew on for the future of Oakland football.

which of oaklands backs are more power then finesse and vice versa for smyrna? would you say bass is the more downhill power runner and valentine is the finesse back? and with smyrna is hicks the finesse back and bryson the dowhill power runner?

but i agree when u compare those two then id give the edge to smyrna but if u compare the overall running game then id give it to oakland

I think out of the group, the ultimate power back in my opinion would be Dre Frasier, he is truly a load to bring down and is one of those backs where he moves the pile. I think Sam and Precious are the best all-around backs we have, really hard to categorize them as a speed or power back to be honest. I think Sam is capable of the big play a little bit more than Precious is, but you could probably say that BJ poses the big home run threat out of all of them. As far as Smyrna goes, I think you have them switch around, Bryson is indeed a special talent that will do big things in college when his time in Smyrna is gone.

Stop Precious Valentine? Smyrna might have to hop aboard the love train! You would also still have to stop Bass,Nelson,Mayberry, and Boyd and Mitchell on handoffs. All of those players have helped make the passing game what it is by opening up the play action. With the short secondary im sure Chris Johnson will have a chance to catch a few lob passes or fades.

NOW IF WE STOP SMYRNAS #5 THEN WE HAVE A GREAT SHOT AT WINNING!

#5 has not played very much since we played ya'll the last time. I think the Oakland??™s staff and players know that #5 is not all they need to worry about.

Smyrna has won the last 5 games with him playing very little, if any. I think you will see a little better Offence then you did in week 7. The QB play has been very solid and the O is finding a way to keep the chains moving and finding the end zone with more frequency.

I know Smyrna will see a better O from Oakland as well. That is why I fell the score will be a bit higher in regulation this go around. I will not be surprised if the winner has 17 or 21 points. I know some of you say no way but. I could see it happening.

Yea, Bryson is the one with the wiggles. He has not been 100% those high ankle sprains are tough to get over. You know this ankle issue is still lingering from the last game with yall? His cuts and burst have not been as explosive. For anyone who has seen him play, you know that's his game. I hope its there for this weekend. I feel Smyrna will need to be hitting on all cylinders to beat Oakland.

Let me tell you one thing about Mr. Hicks. He hit the holes with bad intentions. I know Oakland has a great D line and it will be tough to run right at you but when he gets the rock, I hope your hat's are strapped up tight.

Man I can??™t wait and it only Sunday.

I need to settle down.

#5 is hicks isnt it? He and bryson are a load to handle and him being inconsistent doesnt mean he cant have a big game against oakland.

score wont be higher then 14 either way. Oaklands defense isnt giving up 21 and neither is Smyrnas.

I agree, this is going to be a great game. Should be a hard hitting, physical affair. You are right about Hicks. Ever since the Lavergne game, he has run with bad intentions. This game will be won in the trenches. Oakland's DL is tremendous, so trying to neutralize them will be key to Smyrna's success. It will be a tall order. How many of Oakland's linemen play both ways? I can't wait to see this game. I know about the Oakland hot dogs, but do they have some good hot chocolate? It's supposed to be cold.

Im not completely accurate but from what ive seen about 3-4 of oaklands d-line plays both ways but only in specific packages and we do run behind big MCADOOOOOOOO!

We honestly didnt have an answer for hicks the first time. He was in a groove and we cant let him let alone SMYRNA get into a groove on either side of the ball. The Smyrna quarterback throws a good fade route pass and i hope our corners dont get burned bc he puts it where only his receiver can get it.

OHS CONCESSION STAND IS TURNING INTO A BUFFET WITH SO MANY SELECTIONS. HOT CHOCOLATE IS PRE-MADE SO ALL U HAVE TO DO IS PURCHASE THE CUP AND GO AROUND THE SIDE AND FILL IT UP.

Future? Smyrna is really a young football team. Freshman 9-0 and as athletic as I have ever seen. Future looks pretty good on this end too.

Well I am talking in terms of guy that are actually playing varsity. I am sure Smyrna's great freshmen team will translate into success on the varsity level, but that is not the case for all programs.

    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
    • Facts...until someone takes down the Rebels they should be the favorite. Got loads of young guys salivating at the opportunity to prove themselves and get a 3peat! Blazer how is Region 1 looking this year?
