Just curious as to how you figure that MC is a heavy favorite ?? Because MC hasn't lost a game this year !!! I would say that if our girls played your schedule that we might be undefeated as well. No pun intended.

The LA girls play one of the toughest schedules in the state year in year out. Could be the fact that the best girls B-Ball is played in this area. So I will agree to disagree with you and say that LA will not be an easy win as most of your fans think. Yes our girls will come in with something to prove. That they have one of the best teams this year and have fought and clawed their way into this position and won't be denied.

I'm sure the Lady Chargers have a real good team, they usually do. And this year is no exception it seems with the big win over Upperman. But don't let the record fool you . LA girls are jelling at the right time and they have played in big big games all year. So they are battle tested and ready for the week and what lies ahead.

Please take note of my signature....b/c I am just a fan of my team like most of you are with yours.

GCP said it would be a great game. He didn't degrade Livingston in his post. In fact, I'm pretty sure the poster is a Gibson County fan, and not a McMinn Central fan.

I agree on this point, no one will be heavily favored at the 'Boro. Both teams will be ready to play. Central did have some quality wins with one being over a Georgia final four team (LFO) who is still playing. Don't think these girls aren't battle tested as well.

Both teams have experience. Both teams have recently defeated Upperman in close contests that were decided late in the game. Both teams have more than one scorer. This will be a great ballgame.

Central fans must not be fooled by the won-loss record of Livingston. They have played a terrific schedule, and they are in probably the strongest region in AA. I expect a tough ballgame.

I completely agree...I don't think anyone can judge Livingston by their won-loss record...If everyone remembers correctly, Central drew an Austin East team last year with the worst record in the tournament and they gave Central all they wanted...Livingston will be tough and it should be a great game just looking at the past few matchups these two teams have had...

Hey Old School!

Are you going over to Murfreesboro Wednesday for the game? If you are, maybe I can hitch a ride with you if your vehicle isn't packed yet.

Also, I saw Brandon at a basketball game today in Englewood (his daughter and my Granddaughter play), and he said for you to remind him and he'd send some Central stuff to me to wear to the 'boro.

I'll give you a call tomorrow sometime.

BlitzingBuc, wow, take you a while to come up with that moniker? LOL Yep, if I go you will be most welcome to ride along. Going to be great seeing you in that Charger Blue!

I had to come up with something yesterday in order to post on here! I didn't think 'OldSchoolCock' would be appropriate! /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I wouldn't mind driving but I can't use my new truck this week.

Yeah, BD's Mom, Dad, and Sis - plus my kid and his spouse - all said they want a picture of me in that attire. Don't forget to remind BD to send that, or I'd have to wear Tiger stuff (I've outgrown my Tribe stuff). /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Get me a sweatshirt, t-shirt, and a cap if you can......and anything else that's free. I'll need it anyway to come watch some football games. Your QB's Mom is a good friend of ours.

I think the Wildcats are going to have to show up like they did at Upperman the other night if they expect to get past this tough team. It would be pretty awesome if our girls can win it all and then our boys turn around and do the same.

GO LA!

I don't believe you have to worry about this team not being ready to play..........The road was a little narrow and crooked, and had several bumps getting to this point, but with the heart and determination they're showing, anything can happen.........Seems like I remember another LA team with a similar record in ''99'' that surprised a few people!----------GO HOGEYE /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
