I dont think alcoa will be lacking for playmakers at all this season. Jaron Toney, Vee Hambrick and Taharin Tyson will be able to carry the running game. Everyone knows about tyler robinson at TE but steven isom played a lot last season and ever started a few games at wr. Daniel robinson is another wr who has played a ton the last few seasons. Another potential wr for alcoa is daniel rockymore who played a lot last season and is probably the fastest on the team. I believe he ran a 10.8 or so in the 100 meters. Austin Tallant is a kid who was very close to beating out james for the qb position as a soph last season. I also hear that alcoa had a kid transfer in from miami i believe. Hes a qb but is athletic enough to play a few other spots should he not beat out tallant. I would say the biggest plus for alcoa is they return four out of five guys on the line from last season (walden, marsh, evans, hopkey) with connor miles being the only players lost. Coach rankins son John Tucker will probably step into that spot. The biggest question mark for alcoa is punting i believe.

Yes there is a QB transfering in from Florida but Rankin has alreday told him he is not good enough to start at QB, but he is still planning on coming. As for him being able to play another posistion, my understanding is he will not be a significant contributor anywhere else, he is just not as good as the other skill posistion players on the roster. As for the punter why (outside of the Maryville game) would Alcoa even need to punt.

With gas prices being lower I guess you can spread the recruiting net out a little further. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

With the loss of Sam, it will be key for the WR's and QB's to step up the passing game to give the Offense balance. The running game will be strong!

I have no doubt that FB will be a handful again. My question is if you have new WR's can you get them to block as well as the ones you are losing? That was a huge factor in the championship game. Our DB's couldn't get off thier blocks. I saw the most recent championship ring the other day - that thang is a beauty!!

Well a little bit of an update to everything:

Lately "As in since Tuesday 4/14" There have been talk of people making there minds up about playing next seasons. Coaches and players alike have been hearing the rumors and some players have been haveing the talk of moveing away next season. The only starter that has quit so far has been Hopkey on the O-Line. Hopefully there are not more to come. So far 3 have turned in there stuff from the class of 2010. We shall just have to see what lays ahead of this years senoir class. But they know to keep there eyes on gold. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

I wouldn't say that Hopkey "quit" find out the whole story and come back...as far as this years Senior class goes, they did not have the bulk of the talent that the underclassmen will have next season. I have known this pretty much since they were in seventh grade that there were maybe a couple of good linemen, but that was about it. (minus the two transfers- TRob and JToney.)

We need some receivers to step up in spring ball, the rest of the positions are pretty much set.

*edit---I didn't mention Dee Herbert before...his leadership is as much of an asset as his football skills.
