Just curious.....what teams are going to beat them in regular season?

ML,

Last year, in our office picking contest, I picked Alcoa to beat ya'll. A few years back, B. Warren's senior year, I picked Alcoa. WRONG! Both times. But IF I had to pick right now, in May, who I though could put an "L" on the Reb's regular season, I would probably go with the Tornadoes. Having said that, I still doubt I'll pick against you'all when office picking contest rolls around again. We'll see.

You say they can't be out Coached, were Hillsboro's players really that much better?

Yes I believe that Hillsboros players were that much better and I believe Maryville turning the ball over 4 times might have had something to do with them getting beat!!!! Not out coached!!!

Win a game or two???

This is what I heard last year, when Maryville plays the "big boy's" they should have no probelm rolling over everyone in 6 A!

I am not sure who said it though but it was mentioned.

I am not sure if it was the guy with the 07' state Champ picture-- I think his name is Rebel Ron.

Or maybe it was one of the two who did not even go to Maryville, Soloman or Greyrider, but someone said it. Now that's odd to me to see two fans talking trash who have no connection!

What happened? Is there more than meets the eye? Is MR Brown still working for the TSSAA?

thats what you think. you will be surprized to see what the big boys will do to you

A Hampton fan/player talking smack to Maryville. Dang boy.....try getting an education.

OK...here is the story. Was Hillsboro more athletic....absolutely but nothing Maryville doesn't see virtually every year. Maryville had one difference maker last year....Chris Jordan. Chris was hurt on the first offensive play by a hit after the catch from Eric Gordon. Fifty to sixty percent of Maryville's offense went through Chris last year.....someway somehow. After Chris's exit Maryville was very limited and for the first time I noted that GQ struggled calling plays....JMO.

Govman......I have selected Alcoa to beat Maryville as well in the past....just seldom happens. Last year was a perfect example as was Warren's senior year. Last year Alcoa CHOKED. I will no longer select Alcoa to beat Maryville regardless of the difference in Athletic ability. Last year....same ole crap. Alcoa has less depth....we would win if we played them later in the year. Well.....Alcoa had more depth than Maryville last year. Their sidelines were wall to wall with capable athletes that must not have been ready. Alcoa chose to play Tyler Robinson on both sides of the ball and thus he was done mid way through the third quarter. Alcoa played in the very weak in comparison 2A and improves very little during the season while IMO Maryville improves vastly during the season. Maryville would have STOMPED Alcoa at the end of the year....again JMO.

Hampton fan/player....are you seriously running your mouth on a Maryville thread. The football in NE Tennessee is embarrassing at best and it is proven every year when they play out of area in regular season or the play offs. That's the bottom line. Until something worth watching comes out of that part of the state maybe it would be best to stay on the 1A threads where you may.....just may have a chance.....or you can foolishly stay over here.

Thanks for the entertainment..... /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

I've deliberately not said or responded to anything you've said in quite some time, but alas.....

Unlike some folks on the boards, some of us move out of our parents basement when we graduated high school and don't get to go to see our alma mater every Friday. It'd be a long commute from where I grew up to where I work. Don't think I'd want to spend 8-10 hours a day in a car. So, the wife and I chose to live in Maryville instead.

But, for the comment attributed to me, actually, I said they'd lose 2 or 3 games in the regular season last season. I think they'll lose a game or two this year but I've learned not to put anything past Quarles and Co.

Bladerunner is from the town formerly known as the Clinton Engineering Works. They have a nice big peace bell there now...

Have you fellers in Maryville adopted bladerunner now? If so, it was none too soon for some of the folks out here in AC.
