Just heard eleven Indians have the swine flue. One lineman, Sensabaugh and Roop just to name some. Don't know about the others but if Sensabaugh don't play it's time to call up the freshman runningback(Swafford). After all, he might just score 4 td's just like he has the rest of the year. HA HA.

 

Yes their are a few sick I INDIANS but #32 practiced today & will ay Friday

 

I think we have 2 players of the week from local media outlets.

If it's a close game like I'm expecting, the Vikings have a big advantage in the place kicking. Kid can boot it on kick-offs and for points. FGs could be important especially in an overtime or if becomes a defensive struggle. Vikings special teams look good too. Better watch the kickoff returns Tribe.

I truly hope DB goes deep in the playoffs. If any team deserves it I feel it would be them. So many seasons they had the team to make it and to be blindsided year after year is just something that can't go on for ever.

 

But...I don't see DB beating the Vikings this year. The Vikings, IMO, are not unbeatable but they are playing as one unit. O and D! Tallman is unstopable. And Harmon is as composed as Curt. He may not be the overall athlete Curt was but he is a complete package. He will not be swayed by any defensive package DB brings. He runs the spread with aplomb but can revert to the Vikings tried and true under center package. DB will be the one left guessing. South lives and dies (died) by the big play. Bristol has the ability to go to plan B. And they won't wait until the need arises. They will mix it up and keep DB on the edge. I will give the Vikings a 3 TD advantage.

I would like to see it too. I would much rather support my beloved Rebels in Church Hill however and see how they pick up the pieces. I figure they might appreciate the support. You go on though. I don't have a kid playing but consider them all my kids. Now that yours has moved on you apparently feel differently. Sit with Cap and cheer on the Vikings. If you enjoy yourself I''m sure you can sit with him again on the visitors side at Death Valley in week 10. :)

I'm sorry you see it that way Crawdad. I see it as scouting. And I will sit solo to make sure to get a clear picture.

That's not it at all Jack. I just want to be able to tell the story from an unbiased point of view. And yes, I want to see if you have what it takes to play with the intensity needed to win this game two weeks in a row.

9)more diversity on offense with several backs to share the workload

8)have developed a passing game with discovery of the forward pass

7)speed of Keenan Shepard

6)power running and blocking of Tallman

5)very good kicking game

4)have heard DB band a lot already over the last 3 years

3)can generate a pass rush without having to blitz

2)want to get in South's heads early with a win over the Tribe

1)will have Cap leading cheers :)

      They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.

      The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.

      I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.

      All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
