Well I missed the pre-season scrimmage but my son said they beat MJ by a TD but at this point I guess it doesn't really matter! The defense will have to be disciplined with that wing-t style offense they run. That being said, our D-line will be ready. I just hope 14 points will be enough to win since that has been our norm for the past three games! Go Patriots!!

Hope we take up a huge and vocal crowd. I can bet MJ will .

We have scrimmaged MJ since Perry took the job there and have been successful . They are very physical and disciplined. Perry runs that wingt just about better than anyone around. Of course we are pretty dang physical ourselves. I think it may come down to special teams and I like our odds with Hornsby!

Mt Juliet has a very good offense but the defense is really bad...Could be a good game could be a blowout if MJ can't get it fixed.

Yeah.....GWAVE1 a blowout like your game could be if you do not get your OFFENSE fixed! A goose egg against H'ville? Green Wave should be home watching next week after that performance.

Don't doubt our offense, we score points when we play out of our Region. The defenses in our Region make the offenses looks silly

I wasn't being disrespectful. MJ has an obvious weakness on the defensive side if the ball...look at the entire season. Why bring Gallatin into the mix? Check our scores from all year and see which one doesn't fit.... Are you one of those 0-10 Portland fans that now have to rely on a former coach to get anywhere....thought so....

I think it is a shame that one of these two teams has to lose in the first round. How does Cookville get a 1 seed over Mt. Juliet and Riverdale? They both have better records and they lost to Riverdale head to head. If anything Cookville should be the 4 and playing Oakland.

Can't put Cookeville behind Riverdale, even though Riverdale beat Cookeville. This is my point exactly and hadn't caught it yet. The rules talk about head to head being the top tie breaker, but since Cookeville and Riverdale weren't tied with both being #1s, Cookeville gets put ahead of Riverdale. But to your question Cookeville is a #1 and Mt. Juliet is a #2 so therefore Cookeville must be seeded ahead of Mt. Juliet too.

The REAL seedings for this quad, if you want the best playoff possible should be:

1a Riverdale

1b Oakland

1c Blackman

4 Mt Juliet

5 Cookeville

6 McGavock

7 Franklin Co

8 Coffee Co

This would be a much better playoff.

    • Actually that young kid was in an offense that loved to throw the ball I believe.    Biggest problem for MC is if the coaching staff can figure out which mouths to feed at the appropriate time.
    • Have you ever been in education (administration) or a head coach? You’re responsible for all aspects of your program. If you were not checking the kids information correctly and left it up to someone else and they mess up. You’re held liable because it’s a failure on supervision, implementation of TSSAA eligibility and your school’s eligibility. Remember the wording in the article for him “CONTRACT NOT RENEWED” coaches are on a year to year contract and don’t sign the contract again until July. Do I believe he still should’ve been let go? Yes because you’re responsible for the total program and should be aware of everything going on. Do I believe he knew about the grade changes? No and that’s because nobody brought his name up until things got really bad and there is no indication with any paperwork showing he did. It’s just word of mouth from a teacher trying to cover herself.
    • TSSAA won't ever issue a death penalty, worst case scenario would be a post-season penalty that makes Clinton ineligible for the playoffs for a year or two (I believe 3 years is the most I have ever seen).  But TSSAA only does that in extremely rare circumstances.
    • I just want to echo that sentiment. Coach Woodmore is a good man and he is going to do things the right way and expect these kids to do things the right way. He will help grow them into fine young men. The wins will follow. I think Bolivar hit a home run.
