EHS can take away our sledgehammer, but we don't need props to

POUND THE ROCK!

The "Let it snow" song that was quoted has become a new tradition; if I'm not mistaken, it's only a couple of years old. I believe the Sudderth girls started it last year, or was it the year before?

You got it! Two years ago by Tank Tyson! Great athlete with lots of tallent! All of us long time fans have really enjoyed singing this one. Almost seems like we have had it for 20 years because we have used it soooo much. Plan on singing it many times tomorrow night!!! Come join the fun!!! Oh yeah, gotta love those Sudderth girls! :thumb: "HIT THAT QUARTERBACK!"- That was for you Mary!!!

I will be traveling from Loudon to watch this one to experience the atmosphere and to watch what I hope is a great game. I mean no disrespect to the Cyclone fans when I say this, but I'll say it anyway.

Loudon has been a common opponent of Alcoa's for what seems like an eternity when you keep coming up on the short end. I have seen how athelitic they are over the years, but this year is diffrent. In addition to the speed at skill positions this team can absolutley break your will up front. They are more physical on the O & D line than any team I've seen over the last 5 years including previous versions of Alcoa. I have a hard time thinking there could be a better team in 3A. If the Cyclones get any breaks early they better score points, if you give Alcoa a break bad news. I see this game going one of two ways. Alcoa makes a few miscues to keep Betsy in it late or Alcoa rolls.

I'll guess

Alcoa - 24

Betsy - 7

When y'all get on the bus tomorrow make sure it has a good heater because I talked to my voodoo lady (I worked in N.O.La. for a while) and she says it's gonna be a long ride home. No disrespect to an outstanding football program but I think Alcoa has overlooked EHS. Eventually every streak comes to an end so it might as well end tomorrow night. I am looking forward to a very exciting game! Safe journey to everyone!

It been fun reading all this.I live in NC on the state line and going to the game.I have no dog in the fight, just hope i see a good game.I watched Besty play Asheville and thought Asheville would kill Besty, but that did not happen.I find it hard to believe Alcoa will be bigger then Asheville. It kind of funny no one thinks Asheville has a chance to win there game against West Rowan(defending champs) who has great RB with over 10,000 career yards and counting.I would give the edge to Alcoa, but hope Besty wins. Here is some highlights of Asheville http://www.highschoolsports.net/portal. ... izen-times.

Your voodoo lady must still be feeling the effects of the hurricane that hit years ago. Tell her to concentrate on the Saints and leave high school football alone. :roflolk: GO BIG A!!!!!

Oh I didn't even call her about the game, she brought it up, in detail. Very pleased with what I heard! Go Betsy Go!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
