All they can do from here is just keep trying to find the right person. If Baker is not going to promote from within he needs to take time to get the right fit, but on the other hand he needs to get someone in place before the end of the school year. The players deserve a coach asap.

I think Jason Phillips sounds like a good hire, from the info that some of the posters have given. He played under Quarles at Maryville and has been an OC at Clinton and other places. Who knows? he may have been offered and turned it down. I think that has been the problem with this job, alot of resumes were turned in and when it gets down to it, they are backing out.

Coaches are also teachers and teachers are being cut right and left and if you have a job you have a little security instead of being the low man on the totem pole as a teacher/coach in a new system.
