I've looked at MTSU's web site and don't see anything about Coach Burkey on staff there. I may not have known where to look. Question - Is is really going to MTSU or is he coming home?

It was in the local newspaper....DNJ.com

Thanks for the info! Reporter seemed certain that he's at MTSU. Can't blame us for hoping he was coming back up here. Good luck Coach Burkey and we still miss you!

Your right about the facts and for that matter most all of what else you posted. AC's benefit would be the background information and contacts with MTSU. Money raising and statue can be a problem but there are enough heavy weights around Shelbyville to be of help. AC is very capable, no question but this goes further than that. Burkey was known and respected State wide. AC will have to build that. For a while Shelbyville will have to build on its name. Without Insell, unless the name is remaining in some way, that is a void.

Your reference to players is known and revealing. Two years ago students almost boycotted the Regional Tournament concerning discontent of play. This was the first sign many had ever seen of discontent at the Mid Tenn powerhouse. They were clearly used to better. This year, some parents were clearly dissatisfied with playing time of some players and said so on this site. Seeing them play, it was clearly not the deep team that had been seen and they seemed to be two players short. It was the first time outward posting had been seen. Burkey had to seetheing inside. Shelbyville was losing its discipline which was a hallmark of play.

Burkey is a great coach, likely not many better in Tennessee and MTSU got a steal. The story around was players were not being attracted to Shelbyville as much with talent and some DI players were accumulating to other schools with great coaching staffs. Likely those type players used to move to Shelbyville and play there. This was done legally and success bred success. Thus the talent level and the player development has taken a little dip. Burkey has seen that coming for at least 3 years

Burkey was not able to attract asst coaches to fill in the void although he tried. It is not sure that AC can handle the other part of School exposure that RI was so good at for quite a long time. Burkey had a problem doing it and likely AC will also, temporarily. So enters MB, big enough to handle it and the motivation along with student and parent problems that might exist. As happens, they might not be able to pay him without some tradeoffs. it's going to be hard for the deal to be made.

Shelbyville will work this out, they always do. Somewhere the right coach is there. Likely she just moved to Kentucky. She will not be back. Strange that all of this is tied together. RI has wound up with a stronger staff, Shelbyville right now is struggling and Riverdale had a strong enough staff to reload. This is big time Tennessee Girls Basketball with some of the greatest coaches and schools in the state. Something tells me that all of these coaches will have some part in the solution.

BBFan2003, you hit it on the head.

This poster, Duh, is a imposter who really is a recruiter for DII schools and when he/she shows up she is looking for recuruits or students that may be dissatisfied. She is also looking for prospective coaches. DII can't keep coaches, they seem to turn over a lot every year. So this Father Ryan parent continues to scan this site as a recruiting tool, just to get names, school names and names of siblings. Her attitude effects every student in her school.

The posting thread is in football, Duh, its called DII and allows you to call people names you don't even know. This is not a recruiting site, this is a sports site. Lets see, how many miles is Nashville from Shelbyville? Oh its not high school you ae looking for. But you are k-8. Make sure you are certified. Sixth to 8th grade are not even MSTSSAA eligible unless you join. Have your schools joined? Can you compete?

So what are you on here for? Just recruiting students.:thumb: Get them to high school. and then build a high school. Shabaam. What a plan. Pull that money in. Low cost financing. Mess the student mix up and cause the taxes to go up. Such a deal. We've just left the k-8 horse and buggy days. Now we're in the k-5, 6-8, seperate schools. More efficient. Oh I forgot efficiency is not your thing. Parents will pay more. :thumb::D

Bring on some more of those intellectual posts and good time name calling. DuhII, you don't even belong in this conversation, you are DuhII. You aren't even MSTSSAA in Middle School. Duh, a step backward.

Since information about who has applied for coaching jobs is not generally revealed due to its nature, many times inquiries are exploratory. Schools asking for resumes likely will not reveal who has applied. Anyone can speculate. The principal of the school will reveal the results to whatever source he wants and someone needs to post it on here.

Duhhhhhhhhhhhhh, your post is chocked full of outright lies. I have never recruited a player nor directed a player to any school in my life. Once again the real bigot shows its ugly head. Forgive him Lipscomb. PS the real imposter is a poster who reads bits and pieces of other people's posts than pretends to be an expert. You better get focused on Seagull.
