As a Maryville Alum and La Vergne resident who gets his hair cuts in a Pro-Smyrna Barbershop, I'm looking forward to some good old fashion trash talking this week. I went home for Thanksgiving and saw some of the Maryville players at my dads church including the running back they look pretty big, hopefully they can win.

Wow...23 pages and it's only Tuesday! I love it!

The one thing that jumped out at me as a theme in this thread was the way that people want to discount the past. I'll agree that what happened seasons ago may not be one of the more critical factors in this upcoming game, however, I don't think you can write off the experience of having been there before. Except for the Freshmen on this Rebel squad...they've ALL been there before. And I think that matters.

So, no, maybe Maryville hasn't played as tough a schedule this season as Smyrna has. But this won't be the first time that we make it to state and the toughest team we see all season meets us there. And if we win, it won't be the first time we've won under those circumstances. But if you're thinking that the MHS squad hasn't taken the steps to be prepared to play in this game, I think you're wrong. Does that mean they'll win? Absolutely not. But if they beat the best team on their schedule and it's the best the state has to offer, then I don't think you can complain about strength of schedule much.

What I can guarantee is that you've never seen a coach who will gameplan you as well as GQ and that you've never seen a team that will execute that gameplan as well as these Rebels. More often than not, that translates into victory.

I'm excited to see this game. Is MHS considered an underdog?

Well if they wear their football pants as low as they wear their jeans then Maryville should have no problems Friday. Smyrna will be tripping all over the place and fumbling the football. Its hard to hold on to the ball when you're tryin to keep your pants up.

:roflol: :roflol: I kind of like the bling.

I have a feeling that MLREB will be calling you a name soon!

    • Y’all boys can’t spell discipline. Probably lead the state in personal fouls last year. Being halfway disciplined in 1 game against Smith County in 3rd round doesn’t dismiss the rest of the season. “Shoulda” won the state championship but those mouths got the best of you yet again. Marion already had a lot more retuning than y’all this year. Adding these 2 D1 kids will 100% make a major impact. Marion will stand on business this year. They haven’t forgotten. I’m just keeping it real
    • MC upgraded with 2 studs. If they can’t get it done this year with a generational speed talent in Pickett then I’m not sure they ever will. Huge favorite in the East currently.    Multiple offers from FCS calls for gold.
    • no they will be tough for sure
    • Marion just jumped ER as the favorites in the East. Two big time transfers for y’all kinfolks. Bullseye has been set now. I said it the last two years it is time and both times y’all let me down. Can’t say you’re short on talent this year or that you’re young. Time to put up or shut up. Surely y’all can get over the hump this year. I’m just keeping it real
    • Should have won by 30 last year if we played discipline at the very least. May have got 2 dogs up front but remember we have the best DL in the state on our team. Also added a 6’6” 320lb O lineman.
