BCsportsfan what is up. It has been a few years since we made it up here to the championship game.

We might stand a chance but who knows, we will have to watch this game and see which team wants this

game more. You guys have a safe drive and we will see you guys up there.

I will try and make this short,but since this thread is slow maybe some of the old timers can fill in some of what they remember.Alcoa fans are comparing past champions and i felt like the 77-79 teams

Thank you MrTwister for your kind comments. But I'll keep this directed towards the Tornadoes, after all, it is your party tonight. Alcoa deserves all the accolades they get. It seems almost unfair

Im willing to bed Alcoa wont get up there until Friday. Probably early around 10ish if I had to guess. Time enough for lunch and to get their minds set. However, even under the loosest discipline head coach at Alcoa, The Tornadoes didnt run around partying the night away before ball games. They were in their rooms, lights out and asleep by 10pm

 

The boys didn't start getting to the 'boro the night before until Rankin started here. The schedule for them on Friday is: meet at school, do the pep rally at the high school, get on the bus, have the send off at the middle and elementary schools, then head down.

With the drive only being 1 1/2 hours, there's no need for them to go down the day before. Heck, they've traveled longer to a district game (Thanks, TSSAA).

Sounds about typical...which is perfect alright. I was just thinking back to the first trip to Boro Alcoa took they went up Thursday and spent the night. There was certainly no partying going on either as we were pretty much on a tight schedule and lock down! :roflol:

I know this link is to the homer paper,but I like what nix says about the program and the players.If Rankin does ever leave like most teams in our division are hoping for.We will be in great hands with a young tough coach like Brian Nix.Here is the link for the non homers.

Of course it will,but this is a message board and I think everyone knows that the game is played on a football field and not in cyberspace message boards,What do you suggest we do here?Like the saying goes "No ones holding a gun to your head".Your free to leave or stay.

How would you compare this years Cougar team to the teams Alcoa played in `2005, 06, 07?

GP has nothing to lose this friday according to ya'll the championship has already bean played , so their is no pressure on them. But, what if, what if the stars all get inline and the evil empire gets beat ! are you going to be man enough to get on here and cogradulate the champs? from yr lack of character i would say that question has been answered...! :o

 

Talking about calling the kettle black. Wasn't it the Symrna and Blackman fans claiming that the championship game was the 3rd round of the playoffs? Wasn't it the same old fans talking about how great their region was? REALLY! <_< Alcoa has won 6 straight championships. So we are a little spoiled that's for sure. We expect to win every time we get to the championship game. We are 11 for 12 in the big game. What would make us think any different this year? This is possibly are best team of all. The 89 team that beat the little school that could ( THAT'S FOR YOU MY2CENTS) :mrgreen: was awesome as well. Besides we seen this script with Goodpasture before and its not pretty. I have respect for the their program but their just not on the same level as Alcoa this year. I guess we will see if were arrogant or accurate come Friday. Alcoa 45 Goodpasture 14

Really? I mean its all opinion anyway but at least out of this stretch run, the 05 team will always be by far the best team Ive seen on the field.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
