The west side of the state probably has the best 2 match-ups of sub-state competetion going on Monday night when Humboldt travels to Middleton and Westwood travels to Lake Couty. These are about as evenly matched teams as you can get. All are worthy of being in the state tournament and is a shame two will have to watch. I am going to be a bit of a "homer" and predict Middleton and Lake County advance because of home court advantage but would not be surprised if things turn out differently. I am pulling for the Vikings because I would love to see both District 14-A teams representing West TN in the tournament but Middleton is a tough place to go and win. Westwood is very athletic, can run, will press all night and have long arms to disrupt shots. The Falcons like to press and run as well with probably a little more depth. Let's go big Green and make it 2 for 2 on sub-state games!! What are everyone's thoughts about Monday's bigtime match ups?

I know nothing about Westwood other than they are from Memphis and I know that that alone gives them credentials along with the fact that they are still playing this late in the season. If they press as you say then it should be a run and gun shootout. We need to make most of our free throws and all of our layups. If we can do that then we have a good chance to win. If we don't then who knows what will happen. Home court advantage is huge for us. GO! FALCONS! WIN! I won't be there but I will be doing what I can to get a score after each quarter at the very least. I got your back, no matter what. GO LAKE COUNTY !!!!

I'm hoping for a great atmosphere and a great game.I see we do have a couple common opponents in Middle College and Middleton.Lake Co had Middle College by about 30 points late in the game and pulled the starters and Middleton was a tough game for both Lake Co and Westwood.Looks like on paper, too close to call.Plus I see they played Melrose ,a 19 point loss ,so I'd consider that a win in itself to stay that close.Going to be a tough opponent.Going with Lake Co by 2.

    • Well personally I see us going 9-1 so that isn't doom and gloom to me , Most people are thinking 6-4. Bearden will be the possible loss but hoping not. I was very impressed with what I saw this spring.
    • the kid you are speaking about, played in JV games,  2H half Science Hill game, split time in Hardin Valley and Bearden and that was it.   The upcoming Senior RB was All Region as a Junior and is regarded by the media as one of the top running backs in East TN for 2024 season. Scouting services have him as a top 10 back in the state.  Something aint adding up with gloom and doom. Maybe he was hurt and not at spring practice when you watched?
    • It won't be long now, he gone.
    • Are you kidding me?  You are just trolling now.  The new head coach's qualifications would be volunteer coach at the Oak Ridge Boys Club?  C'mon man, you can't be serious.  You're trolling us.  Anybody working at Clinton High School has to be like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs at this point.  They are coming after anybody and everybody that had knowledge of what was going on.  This is about to get real ugly.  Only in Clinton.
    • So no way they can compete with the likes of McCallie or Baylor still then
