msgov
Didn't BA have a pretty good WR by the name of Jimmy Hockaday that started at GA?
orangecrush
I don't believe that I saw Jeff Speedy's name on this thread, who went on to be the starting QB at Kentucky. Also, Kirk Johnson went on to play for Illinois at QB. I must also mention that one of my best friends, Michael Agee, went to MTSU and kicked and played wide receiver for the Blue Raiders. molnariss
Dont forget RB/DB/KR/PR Gabriel Luis gabriel luis? nah, he transferred to pope john paul, does not start, and has no right to be named with these people
WatchThis
Actually Gabriel Luis was a playmaker at BA. In his career he had 7 carries for -22 yards. He's simply amazing.

sportsguy1976
This is a blast from the past, but I think deservedly so... what about Jeff Brothers at quarterback? He seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle... all he did at BA was win 27 games in a row and two state championships in 1987-88, then go on to be an All-SEC defensive back at Vanderbilt... now he's coaching at the high school level, won a state championship as an assistant at Christ Presbyterian Academy in 2000 and is now the head coach at the new Pope John Paul II High School in Hendersonville... I think if you're talking about great BA players, Jeff's name needs to be at least mentioned...
imallin
Some of those Olines in the early 90's were pretty darn good. Everybody knows about player's like Miller and Allen, but what about a player like Chris Reid who went on to Tennessee Tech and was All-OVC a couple of times. As an outsider I was always impressed with BA football during this time.
Redtwin
I think that Jimmy Hockaday is arguably the best that BA has ever had. A great player in high school (from what i hear), but i have seen tape of him at UGA and he looked great.
7059527176
Give Gabe a little more credit, and make sure to add big reid beard to the list
WarriorFan
Jimmy Hockaday was undoubtedly the best athlete BA has ever had in football. He played alot at Georgia, but it was during the time of Herschel Walker left, Herschel Walker right, and GA was coming off a national championship. I think this hurt him as far as chances of playing in the pros. In high school, his talent was on a far higher level than anyone he played against. At one time, he ranked nationally as one one of the all-time best wide receivers in the history of high school football. I don't know where he ranks now. kensley
Chris Miller should be considered at W.R. as should Tate Mathews at D.B. Both are former Lambuth Eagles...Mac.
