Cooper Smith and Jake West both tried to come to SCHS. The Bison are doing things the right way and people want to be with a winner.

Define "winner". Bucs have been to the state tournament and have been to the sub state several times. Gallatin won the state and has been to the state tournament several times, Hendersonville has been to the state tournament and the sub state several times, Wilson Central has been to both several times. Someone will have to help out on Mt Juliet, Lebanon, and Portland. Station Camp has been to a grand total of zero state tournaments and 1 substate. The comment about doing things the right way is comical. Team is very talented, yes. Good kids, yes. Everyone on Shackle Island knows the story about the recent "transfer".

Portland went to the state tournament semi finals when Cory Brewer and John Ferguson were there around 2003/4.  Lebanon has been several times although last time was around 2003 when they were in 7AAA.  Mt. Juliet has never been to the state. Been to the substate several times though.

 

There are multiple examples of questionable transfers to SC. Does the name Bo ring a bell?

The Bison have won back to back district titles so I'd say they've been pretty successful the past three years. Just because they've yet to play in a state tourney doesn't mean they aren't a winner.

 

Hodges didn't work out for SC. The marriage didn't last long but SC may be better without the headache his father created. Me stating that people wanted to be a part of a winning program is fact.

 

Curious to know why Taylor left Beech. All I've heard is he was in constant conflict with Joines.

SC went to sub state in 07 Beat us in region championship they lost to howard at home. We beat East Ridge on the road and went to state. They lost to livingston the next year in region semis. SC has been very solid at basketball since the schools doors have opened. Portland has been tragically awful since brewer left lol Hendo Gallatin have not been anything special since 04 and after.... Beech always has solid seasons for the most part.  SC and Beech would be the "winner programs around right now

Bond was at Central for 14 years. Doubt he would have left if they were "loaded". LOL

Bond quit on his team. He knew station camp would beat him for many years. Station camp lost Kyle so they will be down.

Bond left because of frustration with administration (not kids).  He probably was ready for a change of scenery also.  He has turned down several jobs in the past and felt this was a good time to leave.  Station Camp will be just as talented this year and maybe better overall.  They will miss Kyle, but not as much as you will.  No doubt they are the team to beat in the district.  They shouldn't lose a game.  Time will tell.

They should not have lost a district game last year, but they did.  Mount Juliet should be good this year with all the returning players.  It is wait and see on everyone else in the district.
